The Role

The person in this internship role applies learned knowledge to solve common user experience issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate solutions. The internship project involves working on problems of varied complexity and scope.  The person in this role exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select solutions. May seek advice in order to make decisions on complex business issues.

Responsibilities:

• Research and design user experience solutions for products and service lines based on established design principles and in accordance with design strategy, practices, and guidelines.
• Plan, validate, and implement research methods to test and gather user experience data; analyze, evaluate, describe, and report results and recommendations to design stakeholders.
• Develop and implement user experience design plans, change, specification, and reusable design elements for new and existing products.
• Collaborate with design and development partners to coordinate design, evaluate concepts and offerings, and recommend and implement changes to products or services to improve user experience.
• Represent the user experience design team to the software development team for all phases of product development and design projects.

What we need to see from you:

• Working on a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Design, Human Factors Engineering, Social Sciences research, Computer Science or equivalent.
• Ability to apply design theories, principles, and concepts to computer software product and service design.
• Understanding of how to design and implement research and data collection plans for user experience testing and acceptance.
• Ability to effectively communicate user experience data, design proposals and product specifications with software developers.
• Ability to evaluate designs and make recommendations to improve designs and overall user experience.
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; mastery in English.

Per the Colorado statute, the estimated range of compensation for this job in that location, at the time of this posting, is $20 - $25.  This position may be eligible for incentive pay, for openings where this is applicable.
