Requirements
  • A minimum of seven years of relevant construction estimating experience on projects ranging from $500,000 to $100 million.
  • Experience with diverse commercial project types, including tilt-wall, light industrial, high-rise multifamily, wood-frame hospitality, healthcare, retail, or multi-story self-storage projects.
  • Experience in mission-critical and data center projects.
  • Proficiency in Bluebeam and Microsoft Excel.
  • Ability to lead a team using strong leadership, diplomatic, and motivational skills.
  • Ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving environment, with teamwork, innovation, and excellence.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with business leaders to establish credibility, solve problems, build consensus, and achieve objectives.
  • Strong leadership, written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain proactive and decisive while demonstrating flexibility amid change and competing demands.
  • Advanced project-estimator skills, including engineering calculations and communication with application engineers, product managers, project managers, engineering teams, and vendors.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to read, understand, and organize construction plans and specifications.
  • Solid organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal structure and exercise sound judgment.
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize tasks, work well under pressure, and meet established deadlines.
  • Knowledge of the Dallas–Fort Worth market.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare detailed and accurate estimates for materials, labor, equipment, subcontracts, and construction facilities.
  • Cultivate relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Attend on-site pre-bid and proposal conferences and site visits.
  • Develop and review subcontractors’ scopes of work, and accept, review, and analyze their quotes for optimal value.
  • Generate project bid-status reports and ensure compliance with specifications, contract Statements of Work, and bid invitations.
  • Present cost estimates in alignment with customer proposals, including general and special conditions.
  • Craft scope specifications and requirements, input project schedules, perform quantity takeoffs, and create cost-summary sheets.
  • Maintain an accurate and current database with cost codes for historical data.
  • Review company projects and estimates for accuracy.
  • Use relevant company and industry historical data to produce precise pricing estimates.
  • Transmit bid invitations through BuildingConnected.
