Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
  • A Mutual Funds License and Certified Financial Planner designation are required.
  • Six years of experience in an investment or financial planning advisory sales position are required.
  • Proven networking and relationship-building skills are required.
  • Superior sales abilities, including active listening, identifying business opportunities, influencing, and negotiating to close sales, are required.
  • The ability to communicate verbally and in writing with a wide variety of people is required.
  • The ability to analyze financial statements is required.
  • Proficiency in computer software programs, including Microsoft Office and web-based applications, is required.
  • Proficiency with planning software such as PlanPlus is required.
  • An understanding of risk and risk ownership, demonstrated through adherence to policies and procedures, is required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide professional and comprehensive financial planning advice to high-value members within assigned credit union branches.
  • Review members' investment portfolios and provide recommendations that meet their life-cycle needs.
  • Determine which advisor should manage a member's ongoing financial needs and refer the member to the appropriate SFA, WA, or SWA using Wealth Continuum guidelines.
  • Proactively seek business-development opportunities with current and potential members for wealth management and subsidiary products and services.
  • Provide support, informal mentoring, and subject-matter expertise to branch employees and Wealth Advisors on investment products and services as required.
  • Identify wealth and financial-planning needs among existing, new, and potential members and deepen relationships across assigned branches.
  • Consolidate external and internal assets to FW Wealth Management through comprehensive portfolio and financial-planning offerings and seamless referrals.
  • Network with external business organizations in the community to generate referrals and pursue relationships with potential new members.
  • Promote FW Wealth Management products and services through community initiatives and events.
  • Provide complex financial-planning advice on a wide range of investment products and services to members with more than $100,000 in investable assets, where applicable.
  • Identify member life-cycle needs and provide appropriate investment vehicles or refer members to product specialists in other lines of business.
  • Provide advice in accordance with ethical standards, Aviso policies, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain compliance with audit and risk-management policies and procedures.
  • Ensure member accounts are opened and transactions and purchases are completed accurately and within required timeframes, where applicable.
  • Maintain up-to-date member files with all required documentation.
  • Identify and provide a seamless handoff to the appropriate advisor who will manage the member relationship going forward.
