Requirements
  • The ability to work various shifts, primarily from 11:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
  • The ability to walk for up to 7 hours, sit for up to 1 hour, and stand for up to 1½ hours at a time.
  • The ability to frequently handle and occasionally twist or turn, lift, carry, push, and pull items weighing 1–50 pounds.
  • The ability to occasionally stoop or bend, climb, and reach above shoulder level.
  • The ability to hear normal conversation and use general, far, and peripheral vision.
Responsibilities
  • Prepare, set, and serve food according to directions, including proper temperatures and portion sizes.
  • Perform minor food preparation and portioning tasks in accordance with departmental policy.
  • Prepare and gather items for snacks and breaks and deliver them to the proper areas.
  • Assist with tray assembly.
  • Deliver patient trays in accordance with facility and departmental procedures.
  • Use established two-patient identifiers to ensure patient safety.
  • Double-check trays for accuracy and compliance with nutrition orders before delivery.
  • Position trays properly for patients, assist with opening tray elements, and check whether additional or missing items are needed.
  • Pick up soiled trays promptly and return them to the kitchen for cleaning and storage.
  • Maintain proper food quality and temperature.
Desired Qualifications
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalency is preferred.
  • Customer service and/or food service experience is preferred, but not required.
