Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED is required.
  • Two years of relevant work experience are required.
  • Experience with trauma-informed care and preferably a working knowledge of the Sanctuary Model for trauma-informed services are required.
  • Understanding of domestic and foreign human trafficking and prostitution is required.
  • A valid driver's license and reliable transportation are required to travel between sites as needed.
  • Completion of a Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearance, Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Record Check, and Pennsylvania Department of Human Services Criminal Record/Fingerprint Check is required.
  • Completion of Pennsylvania-approved Child Abuse Recognition and Reporting Training is required before employment.
  • The ability to understand and support The Salvation Army's mission is required.
  • The position is contingent on grant funding.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with the daily functioning of the New Day Drop-in Center during operating hours.
  • Coordinate access to resources and services for women entering the drop-in center.
  • Provide ongoing crisis intervention and leadership during operating hours.
  • Participate in street outreach to individuals experiencing street-based prostitution and trafficking.
  • Coordinate services and access to resources for drop-in center participants.
  • Ensure that services are culturally sensitive and trauma-informed.
  • Conduct initial screening and intake of newly identified victims of human trafficking.
  • Provide information and referral services to people entering the drop-in center.
  • Complete all daily operations of the drop-in center.
Desired Qualifications
  • Certified Peer Specialist or Certified Recovery Specialist certification is preferred.
  • Bilingual Spanish ability is preferred.
