Responsibilities
  • Act as the technical subject matter expert for workforce agent solution development across Copilot Studio and Microsoft Foundry, including first-party agents, declarative agents, and custom-engine agent development.
  • Build and deploy custom-engine agents in Microsoft Foundry, including model selection, orchestration, grounding, evaluation, tool and function integration, and connectivity with Copilot Studio and enterprise systems.
  • Guide SHI customers with hands-on agent solution delivery, custom data loss prevention policies, environment and artificial intelligence readiness assessment, use case identification, and governance of enterprise agent platforms.
  • Lead agent governance implementation, including environment readiness, Power Platform environment strategy, zoned governance, prerequisite validation, platform enablement, and deployment planning across Power Platform, Azure, and related services.
  • Design and implement agent security and compliance controls as part of Agent 365 onboarding, using Microsoft Purview for labels, data loss prevention, and eDiscovery; Microsoft Defender for threat visibility; and Microsoft Entra Agent ID for identity, conditional access, and least-privilege access.
  • Establish enterprise agent governance with development, user acceptance testing, and production environments; managed environments; application lifecycle management and pipelines; connector governance; solution packaging; auditing; and lifecycle management for Copilot Studio agents and agent flows.
  • Own the end-to-end implementation of agent solutions by translating business requirements into workflows, automations, integrations, and extensibility patterns across Copilot Studio, Microsoft Foundry, Azure AI Services, and Power Platform.
  • Implement Power Platform governance and application lifecycle management capabilities, including managed environments, environment groups, data loss prevention policies, pipeline configuration, approval workflows, Copilot Studio Kit setup, and administrator enablement.
  • Define fit-for-purpose agent architectures that align platform capabilities, custom agent logic, integrations, orchestration patterns, and automation workflows to customer requirements.
  • Implement secure and governed agent environments, including identity, data access, compliance, monitoring, and lifecycle management using Microsoft security and governance services.
  • Guide teams on agent design, governance, evaluation, observability, audit readiness, and operational best practices, including analytics, feedback loops, and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and maintain reusable technical assets, including reference architectures, design patterns, solution templates, and implementation guides for Copilot and agent services.
  • Help customers evaluate and adopt emerging Microsoft Frontier agent capabilities, including prebuilt Microsoft agents, Microsoft Foundry features, Copilot Studio capabilities, and new Agent 365 platform services.
  • Apply FinOps practices for agents and artificial intelligence workloads, including Copilot Credit planning, cost-benefit analysis, usage forecasting, model selection, consumption monitoring, and cost optimization across Copilot Studio, Microsoft Foundry, and related Microsoft artificial intelligence services.
  • Work effectively in Visual Studio Code and use GitHub Copilot and other coding assistants to build, extend, and troubleshoot solutions for Copilot Studio, Microsoft Foundry-hosted agents, and the Agent 365 software development kit.
  • Perform agent evaluations in Microsoft Foundry and Copilot Studio, including testing agent responses, validating grounding quality, measuring effectiveness, and using evaluation results to improve agent behavior, reliability, and user experience.
  • Design agent grounding and retrieval architectures using enterprise data sources, connectors, knowledge sources, Azure AI Search, Microsoft Graph, MCP Servers, Dataverse, and secure data access patterns.
  • Implement responsible artificial intelligence and safety controls for agent solutions, including safety testing, evaluation criteria, risk review, content moderation considerations, human oversight patterns, and continuous improvement.
  • Clearly explain complex Microsoft artificial intelligence, Copilot, agent, governance, and automation concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Design and deliver presentations, workshops, and technical discussions tailored to the audience, business need, and delivery context.

SHI & Microsoft join for 300-person Build-A-Bike(R) in New Jersey.

SHI & Microsoft join for 300-person Build-A-Bike(R) in New Jersey. SHI and Microsoft ran a Build-A-Bike(R) team building event in Warren, New Jersey on August 4, 2026. Three hundred participants gathered at Forest Lodge NJ, competed through team challenges, and assembled bikes before handing them off to the Greater Somerset County YMCA. Participants came from Texas and New Jersey, two of the company's main operating regions. For many in the group, it was one of the few times they had been in the same area. SHI is a global IT solutions provider and one of the world's largest private technology companies. The company delivers hardware, software, cloud solutions, and managed services to organizations worldwide. Their New Jersey team is based in Somerset County, the same area the YMCA serves, which made this donation a direct investment in their own community. Build-A-Bike(R) at scale: Microsoft and SHI come together for an unforgettable Build-A-Bike(R) event in New Jersey. It doesn't get much more exhilarating than this type of activity. 300 team members, half from one side of the country, half from the other, all coming together outside for 2 hours of growth, purpose, and fun. So many things made this event special, but part of it was the size. Large groups require structure and finesse. At 300 participants, team dynamics shift in ways smaller events don't face. Goodwill and enthusiasm carry a group of 30. At 300, the format has to do the work. Build-A-Bike(R) scales by dividing the group into focused, competing sub-teams. It all becomes one big race. Dozens of groups all, simultaneously, frantically shouting across tables, trying to solve the clues and riddles, so they can earn their bike parts before the team next to them. Getting all the parts they need, then working out in real time how the parts fit together like one big Lego. It's electrifying, invigorating, and easy to lose in the moment what you're truly working towards. But once that last bike is finished, every team is instantly reminded why they're there. The reason everyone was there. The heart of the event was the charity component, and the YMCA did an excellent job setting the context for why the builds mattered. Their presentation gave the SHI team a real sense of the impact each bike would have, and that context showed in the energy in the room. Teams leaned in, had fun with the challenge, and took pride in seeing their finished bikes lined up and ready to go to kids in the community. By the numbers, the event delivered exactly what it needed to: 38 bikes built by 38 teams in under an hour, a room full of leadership and sales working side by side, and a strong sense of shared purpose to close out the Kickoff meeting. SHI international bets on new DC collaboration hub to fuel federal growth. SHI executives say the Washington hub will connect agencies with industry experts and technology partners to help shape modernization strategies. SHI, one of the world's leading technology solutions providers, is expanding its federal footprint with a new Washington, D.C., office that will serve as a hub where government and industry can collaborate on technology modernization, company leaders told MeriTalk in a recent interview. Located near the White House, the new office reflects SHI's broader strategy to grow its public sector business by bringing together federal agencies, technology partners, and subject matter experts in a dedicated space for meetings, demonstrations, briefings, and events. "We're very excited to plant this flag in Washington, D.C., and have the space where we can convene technology leaders from both government and industry, so that they can discuss what that next phase of modernization looks like," said Matthew Lyttle, director of federal programs and development at SHI. "We also recognize that technology leaders have many hard choices to make, so we also want to offer that space for leaders to learn and to consider their procurement choices before they sign on the dotted line," Lyttle added. SHI's solution-agnostic approach enables the company to bring multiple vendors into the same room so agencies compare competing solutions side by side and determine which products best fit their missions, he said. "There is a concerted governmental push for modernization, cost savings, and efficiency," Lyttle noted. "Federal leaders have lots of choices to make in the coming months and years, and they need more technology-focused integrators like ourselves sitting on their side of the table and helping them make those smart choices." Robert Fass, head of public sector marketing at SHI, said the office allows the company to extend expertise from its New Jersey headquarters directly to customers in the nation's capital. "The D.C office gives us an opportunity to better connect federal customers with our New Jersey-based experts," Fass said. "That's a significant benefit both for our customers and for us." The office will also host cross-sector discussions that bring together leaders from federal, state, local, and education organizations to share approaches to common technology challenges, particularly around cybersecurity and artificial intelligence (AI). Fass said SHI regularly uses its AI & Cyber Labs in New Jersey to help public sector customers develop AI use cases through an "imagine, experiment, adopt" framework before deploying solutions more broadly. "We're doing this across the board with many government organizations," Fass said. "It creates opportunities for agencies to collaborate directly with practitioners and technology experts as they evaluate and advance their AI strategies." As agencies balance modernization priorities against constrained budgets, Camila Tapias, business development manager for federal at SHI, said the company aims to focus conversations on mission outcomes. "One of the things that I think that we try to really be intentional about is that we try to lead with the mission plus efficiency," Tapias said. She added that SHI works to tailor recommendations around each agency's specific needs rather than offering generic AI messaging. "I always say, how can we make this like a love letter to the federal government [or customer] so that it's not just this generic 'everyone is talking about AI,' but what does that really mean to me and my workforce and my challenges?" Tapias explained. Looking ahead, Lyttle said success for the new Washington office would look like the same level of engagement, learning, and mission alignment across industry and government that SHI sees in its clients that visit the company's other offices. "We hope that the space becomes a place for that kind of learning and collaboration and exploration," he said. "The investment in the D.C. office space isn't just about square footage, it's about bringing new leaders forward that can help the federal government achieve its mission," Lyttle said. The company's gross revenue is estimated at $15 billion. Born in Bangkok, Thai grew up in South Korea and moved to the United States as a teenager to finish high school. The international trajectory was, in a way, already a family trait: her father, besides being a prestigious economist, traveled the world promoting the country's post-war development plan and was the first Korean to graduate from Amherst - the same college where Thai would later study for her undergraduate degree. Before becoming an entrepreneur, she attended Harvard Business School and built a career at two of the most traditional brands in the American market: Procter & Gamble and American Express. The turning point came in 1989, when Thai and her then-husband, Leo KoGuan, bought a small software reseller for less than $1 million - the company that would give rise to the current SHI International. The partnership survived the end of the marriage: today, Thai holds 60% of the business, while KoGuan retains the remaining 40%.
