Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, Construction Management, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field is preferred; an equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant experience may be considered.
  • 0–5 years of experience in construction safety, environmental health, or occupational safety roles.
  • OSHA 30-Hour Construction training.
  • First Aid/CPR/AED training.
  • NFPA 70E training.
  • Strong hazard recognition and problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with project management and field personnel.
  • Strong organizational and documentation skills.
  • Ability to influence safe behaviors and reinforce company safety expectations.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other computer applications.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods; navigate uneven terrain, stairs, and ladders; perform bending, kneeling, and reaching activities; and lift and carry materials weighing up to approximately 50 pounds.
  • Sufficient visual acuity to read plans and documents and inspect work activities and surrounding conditions.
  • Ability to work outdoors for significant portions of the day in varying weather conditions, with exposure to loud noise and typical construction-site hazards.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment as necessary.
Responsibilities
  • Support implementation of Environmental, Health, and Safety programs on assigned electrical construction projects.
  • Identify hazards and assist project teams in implementing effective risk mitigation strategies.
  • Conduct site safety inspections, audits, and observations to verify compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in and lead the development and maintenance of Site-Specific Safety Plans, Activity Hazard Analyses, and other project safety documentation.
  • Facilitate toolbox talks, safety orientations, and safety stand-downs for employees and subcontractors.
  • Assist with and lead incident reporting and investigations, including documentation, identification of causal factors, and corrective action implementation.
  • Provide oversight of high-risk work activities, including fall protection, lockout/tagout procedures, and confined space entry.
  • Maintain accurate safety records, including inspections, incident reports, training documentation, and regulatory records.
  • Participate in project safety meetings and coordinate with project management, general contractors, and other stakeholders.
  • Support implementation of corporate Environmental, Health, and Safety policies, initiatives, and safety improvement programs.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to field personnel to reinforce safe work practices and promote a proactive safety culture.
  • Travel to project sites as required.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience in commercial, industrial, or electrical construction environments.
  • Experience in a mission-critical or data-center environment.
  • Familiarity with construction safety regulations, including 29 CFR 1926 construction standards.
  • Basic knowledge of NFPA 70E electrical safety standards.
