Requirements
  • One to two years of serving or hosting experience in a luxury hospitality environment.
  • Passion for and understanding of five-star hospitality and what it takes to deliver it.
  • Empathy, with the ability to build rapport and read each guest’s desired level of interaction.
  • Ability to think quickly, be resourceful, and solve problems in the moment.
  • Ability to remain calm and courteous at all times.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced and changing environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Willingness to work rotating shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English.
Responsibilities
  • Create exceptional and memorable guest experiences that reflect the hotel’s service standards and Forbes Five-Star expectations across Food & Beverage outlets.
  • Anticipate guests’ individual needs and preferences while delivering intuitive, personalised, and gracious service.
  • Act as an ambassador for the hotel by bringing its heritage, stories, and Food & Beverage experiences to life through engaging conversations with guests.
  • Maintain exceptional knowledge of menus, ingredients, preparation methods, beverages, promotions, and experiences to provide tailored recommendations.
  • Take ownership of the guest journey, identify opportunities to create special moments, and respond confidently and discreetly to individual requests.
  • Maintain an impeccable professional presence and presentation in line with expected grooming and service standards.
  • Welcome and engage with guests confidently, build rapport, and ensure interactions feel personal.
  • Guide guests through the Food & Beverage offering and make recommendations based on their preferences.
  • Take reservations accurately, capturing guest preferences and details to support a seamless experience from arrival to departure.
  • Enhance the guest experience and drive revenue through intelligent recommendations and thoughtful upselling.
  • Share knowledge of menus, beverages, seasonal experiences, promotions, and hotel heritage, adapting the approach to each guest.
  • Collaborate across Food & Beverage and the wider hotel, communicating guest preferences and relevant information.
  • Take ownership of guest requests and concerns, seek support when appropriate, and follow matters through to resolution.
  • Uphold standards of cleanliness, presentation, food safety, and health and safety.
  • Ensure menus, collateral, and guest-facing materials are accurately presented and readily available.
  • Complete required administrative duties with care and attention to detail.
  • Support colleagues and contribute to a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Desired Qualifications
  • Basic knowledge of a point-of-sale system.
  • Basic knowledge of SevenRooms and OpenTable.
  • Industry-related certifications, such as Wine & Spirit Education Trust certification.
  • Basic knowledge of a property management system, such as Opera.
