Requirements
  • A Bachelor's Degree and 10+ years of experience in technical disciplines, in addition to experience writing technical procedures in a commercial or Weapons Complex facility, are required. In lieu of a Bachelor's degree, a technical background with 18 years of experience writing technical procedures in a commercial nuclear or Weapons Complex facility may be considered.
  • United States citizenship is required due to the federal nature of the work.
  • The candidate must be able to obtain and maintain a government-issued clearance, if needed.
  • Prior experience writing technical procedures in a commercial or Weapons Complex facility is required.
  • Familiarity with the regulatory and administrative requirements affecting procedures is required, including determining applicable technical requirements by examining DOE Orders and Standards, 60-101PD Quality Assurance Program Description, Y60-015 Integrated Quality Manual, Nuclear Criticality Safety documents, and Hazard Analysis documents.
  • Experience developing, revising, or modifying technical procedures for dimensional inspection, material testing, metrology, procurement, radiography, and weld inspection is required.
  • Experience complying with Y15-232 Technical Procedure Process and the Technical Procedure Authoring Tool is required.
Responsibilities
  • Develop new, revised, or modified technical procedures that enable personnel to safely and correctly perform tasks associated with dimensional inspection, material testing, metrology, procurement, radiography, and weld inspection.
  • Comply with Y15-232 Technical Procedure Process and the Technical Procedure Authoring Tool.
  • Develop or revise administrative procedures and comply with Y15-235 Administrative Management Requirements Process and the Administrative Procedure Authoring Tool.
  • Develop Enterprise procedures applicable to Y-12 and Pantex.
  • Determine the technical requirements applicable to procedures by examining DOE Orders and Standards, 60-101PD Quality Assurance Program Description, Y60-015 Integrated Quality Manual, Nuclear Criticality Safety documents, and Hazard Analysis documents.
  • Prepare and coordinate procedure reviews and comment resolution.
  • Implement hazard controls, capture quality and performance data, and verify and validate that procedures can be performed as written.
