Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Perfusion Technology or a Bachelor of Science degree with a certificate in Perfusion Technology from an accredited cardiovascular perfusion education program.
  • Certification by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion is required.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification or American Red Cross Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification is required.
  • Call and transport are required.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and participate in the management, setup, and operation of heart-lung machines and other ancillary equipment used in open-heart and other cardiovascular procedures.
  • Evaluate techniques and equipment for clinical application.
  • Act as a resource person for the entire heart team.
  • Ensure effective communication with the entire heart team.
Desired Qualifications
  • Three to five years of clinical experience including pediatrics experience.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support certification or American Red Cross Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers certification.
