Requirements
  • DAII training or equivalent.
  • A Certified Dental Assistant certification, a radiological equivalency examination completed through the North Carolina State Board of Dental Examiners, or completion of a Commission on Dental Accreditation-accredited dental assisting program.
  • Current CPR certification, or the ability to become CPR certified within 30 days of hire.
  • Ability to professionally present clinical information about treatment plans and insurance information to patients.
  • Knowledge of Eaglesoft or Denticon software is beneficial.
  • Ability to demonstrate independent thinking, exercise good judgment, and formulate, affect, interpret, or implement operating practices.
  • Ability to perform frequent repetitive work with attention to detail.
  • Ability to accept different work assignments within the practice, including traveling to other locations.
  • Ability to follow instructions, take responsibility for one's actions, and maintain patient confidentiality.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, procedure manuals, and written correspondence.
  • Ability to solve practical problems involving varied concrete situations with limited standardization.
  • Ability to interpret written, oral, diagrammatic, or scheduled instructions.
Responsibilities
  • Assist the dentist in providing dental treatment.
  • Function as a treatment coordinator and prepare and present treatment plans to patients.
  • Schedule patient appointments to accommodate potential obstacles.
  • Maintain dental instruments, supplies, and equipment.
  • Collect and record patient health histories.
  • Assist with patient management during dental procedures.
  • Clean and sterilize instruments and sanitize treatment rooms after procedures.
  • Prepare dental materials and equipment for scheduled treatments.
  • Complete dental charting.
  • Maintain inventory supplies and perform other ancillary duties.
Desired Qualifications
  • Two to five years of dental-assisting experience.
  • Knowledge of Eaglesoft or Denticon software.
  • Regular and timely attendance.
  • A teamwork-oriented approach to job responsibilities.
  • Initiative, dependability, and promptness.
  • Ability to listen attentively for clarification and necessary outcomes.
