Requirements
- No prior experience or education is required.
- Must be able to read and comprehend simple instructions, safety rules, and memos.
- Must have basic mathematical ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
- Must be able to apply common-sense understanding to carry out instructions.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug test and background check.
- Must be able to walk and stand for a significant degree and perform reaching, handling, climbing, balancing, lifting, crouching, kneeling, stooping, smelling, and seeing.
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds maximum, with frequent lifting, carrying, or transporting of objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Must be able to work indoors and may be exposed to paint, solvents, cleaning chemicals, and fumes.
Responsibilities
- Provide quality services and meet guests' needs.
- Sort, wash, dry, and fold hotel linens according to prescribed procedures.
- Maintain linen quality according to hotel standards.
- Clean and maintain the laundry room.
- Clean and maintain laundry-room equipment.
- Assist with monthly inventory.
- Monitor inventory and proper use of chemicals and supplies.
- Rotate linens to minimize wear.
- Pretreat stained linens before washing as needed.
- Assist other coworkers and departments when necessary.
- Attend monthly department meetings.
- Seek out additional tasks when current work is completed.
- Keep the laundry room clean and shelves organized, safely stocked, and orderly.
- Participate in ongoing education and training.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
- Non-slip shoes are recommended.
