Responsibilities
- Leads risk assessments and safety audits for multiple units or system-level projects.
- Analyzes complex incident reports and claims using advanced data analysis tools.
- Prepares and present reports to leadership and regulatory agencies.
- Develops, implements, and monitors risk management policies and protocols.
- Provides training and guidance to staff on department-specific competencies and regulatory requirements.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Conducts root cause analyses and support corrective action planning.
- Serves as a resource for quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
- Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.
- Independently manages assigned event and incident reports, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and appropriate follow-up actions.
- Conducts medical record review and analysis for patient safety events across general acute care and select specialty care settings.
- Participates actively in investigations, including interviews, documentation review, and contribution to root cause and risk analyses.
- Analyzes and trends event data to identify patterns, contributing factors, and opportunities for risk prevention and patient protection.
- Collaborates closely with clinical leadership, Quality, Patient Safety, Patient Experience, and operational teams to support corrective action planning.
- Assists with regulatory readiness activities and supports accreditation and performance improvement initiatives as assigned.
- Contributes to the development and delivery of internal education related to patient safety, risk prevention, and reporting expectations.
- Performs additional duties as assigned in support of departmental operations.

Desired Qualifications
- Professional certification in healthcare risk management or patient safety (e.g., CPHRM, CPPS) encouraged.
