Staff Accountant (Hybrid) – Alternative Investment Fund Accounting, Administration and Corporate Services
Reports to the Financial Reporting Manager
This highly numerical position will be working with an established team in our US office, who service Private Equity, Real Estate, Infrastructure and Private Credit products for both mid-market and institutional clients. This is an exciting opportunity for the candidate to make a significant impact to our growing US business and to work with an ambitious and dynamic team.
Key responsibilities:
- Assist with all aspects of accounting matters for a portfolio of Private Funds and SPVs, which includes responding to ad-hoc investor and client requests.
- Work directly with client contacts and internal teams on daily deliverables.
- Production of bank reconciliations.
- Preparation of financial statements in accordance with US GAAP (and perhaps other reporting standards such as IFRS and UK/Lux GAAP).
- Preparation of investor reporting including calculations of investor and fund performance.
- Liaising with external auditors and tax preparers and collating audit requests
- Preparation of bookkeeping, assisting with financial reporting/consolidations and investor reporting.
- Coaching of more junior members of staff on routine tasks.
Skills, knowledge, expertise:
- Bachelor or Masters Degree, Accounting or Finance is preferred
- Experience of using Yardi and eFront or Investran accounting platforms is preferable but not mandatory
- 2 years previous experience in Fund Accounting or Auditing preferred, ideally in the alternative funds sector (either in-house with a fund manager or a fund administrator)
- Sound technical knowledge of US GAAP and reporting required for the alternative funds sector
- Good interpersonal skills are required to develop close working relationships with colleagues, clients and business contacts
- Self-motivated team player
- Ability to work in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment with a ‘can-do’ attitude
