Requirements
  • A minimum of 8+ years of technology field sales experience, including significant cloud technology sales experience, technology services implementation experience including exposure to cloud, software, platform, and professional services solutions
  • Deep understanding of the Federal Government marketplace, preferably within the defined agencies
  • Proven ability to forecast, manage sales expenses, and consistently close new business above quota
  • Exceptional business development, prospecting, presentation, communication, and relationship-building skills
  • Demonstrated success serving as the primary point of contact for customers and managing complex sales opportunities
  • Experience developing growth strategies based on customer mission understanding, stakeholder engagement, and solution alignment
  • Background working within or alongside management consulting companies, systems integrators, value-added resellers, or partner ecosystems is highly desirable
  • Demonstrated ability to identify whitespace opportunities, influence customer strategy, and create new business where opportunities are not already established
  • Experience navigating Federal procurement, acquisition, and partner-driven sales motions is preferred

Responsibilities
  • Own and execute a strategic growth plan to increase cloud adoption year-over-year, delivering mission-critical solutions within the appropriate federal cloud regions
  • Act as a trusted advisor and advocate for your clients, aligning Oracle Cloud solutions to support their unique missions and strategic objectives
  • Manage your territory throughout the entire sales cycle—including business development, prospecting, opportunity qualification, contract negotiation, and post-sales support
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams across capture and business development, software, consulting, hardware, and partner organizations
  • Stay on the leading edge of technology, understanding data platform solutions, emerging AI capabilities, and DevSecOps models to deliver Oracle IaaS and PaaS solutions to mission-critical challenges
  • Build and strengthen partnerships with system integrators, consulting firms, channel partners, and resellers, identifying and maximizing opportunities for mutual success
  • Identify customer challenges, align Oracle capabilities to mission outcomes, and create long-term growth opportunities across assigned agencies
  • Cultivate strategic and tactical relationships with government stakeholders and partner ecosystems to uncover, influence, and advance new business opportunities
  • Drive growth through both existing relationships and whitespace account development, creating demand where opportunities may not already be established

Quantinuum partners with Oracle to bring Helios quantum computer to OCI for hybrid AI workloads

Quantinuum and Oracle have announced a multi-year partnership to integrate Quantinuum's Helios quantum computer into Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. OCI customers will gain direct access to Helios, which Quantinuum describes as the most accurate commercial quantum computer, alongside OCI's high-performance computing and GPU infrastructure. The 98-physical-qubit trapped-ion system achieves an average two-qubit gate fidelity of 99.921%. Helios uses significantly less energy than supercomputers, with an estimated power draw of less than 1% compared to leading supercomputers. The partnership aims to create a hybrid quantum-AI computing environment for enterprise workloads in materials discovery, drug development, logistics, energy, and financial modelling. Oracle plans to preview its OCI quantum service in the coming months, enabling developers to move from simulation to execution on quantum hardware. Quantinuum employs approximately 800 people globally, with over 70% of its technology team holding PhDs or master's degrees.

Oracle's free cash flow turns negative as capex hits 83% of revenue to fund AI data centre buildout

The company now spends over 80% of revenue on capital expenditures, compared to a historical average of 4.3%, with free cash flow swinging from 32% of revenue to negative 35%. The spending funds AI data centre construction in locations including Abilene, Texas and Port Washington, Wisconsin. Oracle delivered more than 1.2 gigawatts to customers in fiscal 2026 and expects around $70 billion in net capital expenditure for fiscal 2027. The company plans to raise roughly $40 billion through debt and equity in fiscal 2027 to fund this expansion. Remaining performance obligations reached $638 billion against $67 billion in annual revenue, indicating strong contracted demand. Oracle's stock has fallen approximately 40% over the past year as investors reassess the company's shift from software to infrastructure.

Michael Burry shorts Oracle and Nebius, calling AI companies 'fat fish' ripe for collapse

Michael Burry has disclosed short positions in Oracle and Nebius, two companies heavily invested in AI infrastructure. The investor famous for predicting the mid-2000s housing bubble announced the trades on Substack, shorting Oracle at approximately $145 and Nebius at around $212 per share. Burry criticised AI companies for accumulating "off-balance sheet liabilities" and suggested they have become bloated targets. Oracle shares have plummeted nearly 60% from their September peak of $350 amid debt concerns. Nebius stock fell 13% to $190 on Thursday, though it has still more than doubled this year. Burry previously profited from bearish Oracle puts in August. Oracle's AI gamble: $638B backlog built on $156B debt and risky OpenAI dependence

Oracle faces significant financial risks despite impressive cloud growth, with total debt reaching $156 billion and an additional $261 billion in unreported data-centre lease commitments. The company's Oracle Cloud Infrastructure revenue rose 46% to $9.9 billion in its fourth quarter, and it holds $638 billion in contracted future revenue. However, Oracle reported negative free cash flow of $24.5 billion in fiscal 2026. More concerning, approximately half of its revenue backlog depends on OpenAI, which is burning through cash at unprecedented rates. The S&P 500 fell over 7% through April before recovering nearly 20%. The tech-heavy Nasdaq Composite dropped more than 10% before rising nearly 25% from that low. Given that roughly 40% of the S&P 500's value concentrates in just 10 stocks—nearly all major tech companies—any AI industry issues could trigger broader market problems.

Michael Burry exits MSFT, closes ORCL short, trims PLTR bet after Big Tech earnings

Michael Burry has exited his Microsoft position and closed his short on Oracle, according to a trading update on his Substack page. The "Big Short" investor first disclosed his Microsoft stake in April and recently unwound it, citing "lucky timing" whilst noting his enthusiasm for the company's earnings didn't match the market's response. The investor maintained his direct short position in Palantir despite the company's shares surging nearly 30% following blowout second-quarter results. Palantir's revenue nearly doubled to $1.94 billion, beating expectations.
