Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree is required.
  • At least 5 years of recent senior leadership experience is required.
  • At least 10 years of related work experience with knowledge of healthcare revenue cycle operations, including professional billing, reimbursement, and accounts receivable management, is required.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills are required.
  • Ability to manage multiple initiatives, organize, identify, and prioritize issues to meet aggressive deadlines and organizational goals.
  • Strong mentoring and coaching experience for a team with diverse levels of expertise.

  • Deep understanding of billing workflows, payer rules, and Epic revenue cycle management technologies.
  • Expertise in reimbursement methodologies and regulatory changes.
Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive strategy for HMFP professional revenue cycle operations, including charge capture, coding, billing, collections, denial management, reconciliation, and optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and third-party payer regulations while maximizing revenue opportunity and minimizing risk.
  • Oversee revenue integrity efforts, including auditing, regulatory monitoring, and implementation of policies and procedures for accurate and compliant billing practices.
  • Own governance, configuration, and workflow consistency for HMFP's billing platform.
  • Oversee third-party vendors providing revenue cycle services on behalf of HMFP.
  • Guide strategic initiatives and build alignment with stakeholders on strategies, tactics, and implementation approaches.
  • Drive revenue cycle transformation through technology, process automation, and workforce and vendor optimization.
  • Create governance structures covering key performance indicators, service-level expectations, and process accountability.
  • Lead a team responsible for system configurations, work queues, claim edits, user roles, and workflows.
  • Provide leadership oversight for new-market growth opportunities in revenue cycle partnerships.
  • Work with BILH/BILPN on delegated functions affecting HMFP professional revenue cycle, including patient access, scheduling, registration, financial clearance, patient liability estimates, and patient collections.
  • Use revenue cycle metrics, analytical capabilities, process improvement, and technology enhancements to support best-practice operational performance.
  • Champion continuous improvement and innovation to enhance revenue cycle efficiency.
  • Foster a high-performing team measured by benchmark process performance, audit and compliance results, financial goals, and employee satisfaction.
  • Develop and implement enterprise-wide approaches to maximize revenue, improve financial performance, generate cash flow, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with finance, operations, information technology, and compliance leaders to integrate revenue cycle strategies with broader organizational goals.
  • Develop and enforce standardized revenue cycle policies and best practices.
  • Develop an organization-wide metric-driven balanced scorecard for revenue cycle and contract performance in relation to industry benchmarks.
  • Develop and manage the HMFP Revenue Cycle department budget and staffing for the enterprise.
  • Develop targeted strategies to improve patient satisfaction with the revenue cycle and patient billing process.
  • Provide advisory and operational assistance in acquiring, developing, and implementing innovative technologies, including revenue cycle business systems.
  • Monitor and report key performance metrics and contributing drivers to senior leadership, including plans to address variances in financial targets, budgets, compliance, quality, customer service, and productivity.
  • Oversee development and execution of the enterprise revenue cycle to align with HMFP strategic priorities and department goals.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree in business or healthcare administration is preferred.
  • Recent relevant experience in a physician organization or similar academic medical center environment is preferred.
  • Experience managing outsourced revenue cycle management vendors is strongly preferred.
  • Prior experience with the Epic Resolute professional billing platform is preferred.
