- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or have equivalent education for licensing.
- No prior experience is required.
- Maintain Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider certification from the American Heart Association as applicable to the work location.
- Hold the required Registered Nurse license for the applicable state or a compact-state Registered Nurse license where accepted.
- Meet the physical requirements, including standing and walking, lifting and carrying objects, patient movement, communication, keyboard use, and occasional driving.
- Perform specialized nursing tasks within demonstrated competence for the assigned patient population.
- Assess patients' biophysical, psychosocial, spiritual, cultural, nutritional, pain-management, abuse-or-neglect, and age-appropriate needs to develop, evaluate, and modify plans of care.
- Develop comprehensive patient and family education plans and provide health education and coaching.
- Complete accurate and timely documentation, including processing physician orders, in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Monitor and evaluate nursing care delivered by team members based on patient needs and professional judgment.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals regarding all aspects of patient care.
- Apply evidence-based practice and scientific knowledge to nursing practice while delivering age-specific and clinical care within the department's scope of service.
- Complete competency and other position requirements.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Perform other assigned duties.
