Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of utility systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and waste management.
  • Familiarity with energy management systems, automation, and controls.
  • Experience in conducting energy audits and implementing energy efficiency measures.
  • Knowledge of relevant building codes, regulations, and sustainability standards.
  • Proficiency in data analysis software and tools.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and vendors.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities
  • Implement strategies for the effective management of utility systems to meet operational requirements and energy efficiency goals.
  • Identify and analyze energy usage patterns and propose energy conservation measures to minimize waste, reduce costs, and enhance sustainability.
  • Conduct regular inspections, audits, and performance assessments of utility systems, identifying potential issues and proactively addressing them to ensure uninterrupted operations.
  • Understand the critical operating parameters in life science operations and develop strategies to minimize risk of utilities outages.
  • Develop and execute optimization plans, utilizing advanced automation and controls to ensure optimal performance and reduce energy consumption.
  • Evaluate existing utility equipment, propose upgrades, and manage the installation of new equipment or systems when necessary.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, codes, and standards pertaining to utility systems, energy efficiency, and environmental sustainability.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret utility data and provide accurate reports on energy consumption, system performance, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with external contractors and utility service providers to ensure effective coordination, timely repairs, and maintenance activities.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of sustainability programs, such as renewable energy integration and waste management optimization.
