Requirements
  • A High School Diploma or General Educational Development credential plus 1 to 3 years of related work experience, or an Associate's or Bachelor's degree with 6 months to 1 year of related work experience.
  • Strong computer skills, including experience with and knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Strong administrative skills and knowledge of office procedures and practices, filing systems, and proper telephone and email etiquette.
  • Ability to follow directions and perform recordkeeping and administrative activities such as data entry with speed and accuracy.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
Responsibilities
  • Perform administrative support activities, including opening and distributing mail and faxes, typing correspondence, screening telephone calls, greeting visitors, scheduling appointments, ordering supplies, organizing and maintaining paper and electronic files, and responding to information requests.
  • Prepare and maintain records, logs, and filing systems for assigned areas of responsibility, and check, verify, and file materials into appropriate systems.
  • Record and verify information related to departments, programs, attendance, personnel, and payroll records.
  • Receive, review, and verify documents, records, and forms for accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Prepare and update routine reports and spreadsheets.
  • Prepare and process invoices in Workplace and reconcile petty cash.
  • Receive and process confidential information and maintain it in strict confidentiality.
  • Assist other support staff with assigned functions and perform related duties as required.

OPWDD: Governor Hochul Announces Awards for 'Step-Down' Programs for Hospitalized New Yorkers Living With Mental Illness & Developmental Disabilities

For five years, AHRC New York City has partnered with NYC Health + Hospitals, and now New York State Office of Mental Health and NYS Office for People With Developmental Disabilities to enable people with developmental disabilities, autism and suspected IDD and autism, who have co-occurring mental health diagnoses, to exit unnecessary hospital stays and move into a community transition program, one with intensive clinical and case management supports.
