The Team

Taiwan engineering is a dedicated engineering org for Coupang core business in Taiwan. Coupang started the business in Taiwan from 2022 and the business is growing fast, and we see many opportunities there. The team has end-to-end ownership of Taiwan systems, and we are working with Taiwan business stakeholders, product team very closely to wow the customers and scale the business. We will record another history of Coupang in Taiwan. 

The Role

As a Senior Staff ML Engineer, you will lead one or more large projects at the group level in Taiwan Engineering.  You will apply ML techniques to devise solutions for problems with high level of complexity and scale. You will work with business, operations and product to understand their needs and build applied ML solutions. Some problem spaces you will work on are – Fraud detection, Supply Chain, Marketing and Customer Support.

Requirements :

• BS, MS, or PhD degree in Computer Science or related field.
• 10+ years of relevant experience in technology companies or organizations.
• 5+ years of experience in Applied AI/ML.
• Industry experiences building and productionizing Machine Learning models.
• Proficient in cloud computing and data processing infrastructure and tools: Kubernetes, Airflow (or equivalent), Spark, Hive, SQL.
• Proficient in some of the ML training and deployment frameworks like: Tensorflow, PyTorch, TensorRT, Triton backend.
• Deep understanding of Machine Learning best practices like training/serving skew minimization, A/B test, feature engineering, model selection. Working knowledge on ML algorithms like gradient boosted trees, neural networks/deep learning, optimization. And domains like NLP, forecasting.
• Strong ownership and ability to lead project end to end; Good communicator, both to technical and business audiences.
• Ability to work in multicultural, cross functional team, and to deal with ambiguity in business and technology.
