Online learning platform.

Online learning platform. Jaimie Blanton June 1, 2026 Myrtle Point School District will be offering an online educational option for students who currently attend programs such as Winter Lakes, Baker Academy, Connections Academy, and other online schools. Its goal is to provide a high-quality online alternative that allows students residing within its district to remain enrolled in a Myrtle Point School District-sponsored program. After doing research Myrtle Point School District has selected Edmentum to provide its online learning platform. Edmentum provides Oregon-certified teachers who will deliver all instruction. In addition, Edmentum offers a variety of academic and student support systems within its platform. Should students require additional assistance beyond what Edmentum provides, the district will offer support when requested. Initially, the majority of students enrolled in the program will participate in a fully online model. As the program develops, Myrtle Point School District may explore additional options, including hybrid learning opportunities and expanded support services based on student needs. Students enrolled through Edmentum will remain Myrtle Point School District students and will graduate from Myrtle Point School District upon successful completion of graduation requirements. Online students will be eligible to participate in athletics. However, because they are not attending Myrtle Point schools in a traditional setting, they will not receive all the same privileges available to students enrolled on campus. In the future, Myrtle Point School District may consider allowing online students access to selected elective courses. At this time, the district is not planning to add staff specifically to support the Edmentum program. Edmentum is designed to be self-supporting and provides instructional and support services as part of the program. If enrollment numbers increase significantly and additional district support becomes necessary, Myrtle Point School District will evaluate staffing needs at that time. Edmentum also provides special education services for eligible students. However, Myrtle Point School District will continue to be responsible for students' Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). Because of these considerations, students receiving special education services will be considered for online enrollment on an individual basis. Students who choose to enroll in the online program will be expected to remain in the program. Enrollment should be viewed as a commitment. It is important to understand that Edmentum is not an alternative school. Rather, it is an alternative educational setting that offers a robust online curriculum and can be an excellent fit for students who are motivated and committed to independent learning. Students who are successful in this environment are typically those who are prepared to take ownership of their education and actively engage in their coursework. If you have questions or concerns regarding this program, please feel free to contact me by email. Thank you, Steve Perkins

Edmentum and Roadtrip Nation Q&A: integrating career exploration into core curriculum.

Edmentum and Roadtrip Nation Q&A: integrating career exploration into core curriculum. Mar 19, 2026 Edmentum has teamed up with Roadtrip Nation to launch its first-ever integration of real-world career storytelling directly into core, credit-bearing curriculum. Codesigned with Edmentum, this partnership brings Roadtrip Nation's student-driven career exploration interviews straight into Edmentum Courseware, infusing lessons with authentic voices and lived experiences. By embedding these stories seamlessly into evidence-based curriculum, Edmentum, Inc. is giving students meaningful, relevant connections that spark curiosity and support college and career readiness, all without adding extra work for teachers. What is Roadtrip Nation? Roadtrip Nation, known for its Emmy Award-winning career exploration videos available through PBS, produces unscripted interviews of professionals talking candidly about their paths, challenges, doubts, and decisions in their professional journeys. After engaging, 69% of students reported viewing their education as relevant to their lives. These student-led conversations provide an honest look into people who have built meaningful careers, often in unexpected ways, to prompt thinking and curiosity. The results are clear: after watching, 61% of students discovered career paths they hadn't previously considered. Why are Edmentum and Roadtrip Nation collaborating? The partnership is designed to directly address two of the biggest challenges facing K-12 education today - low student engagement, including chronic absenteeism, and the widespread lack of preparedness for postsecondary pathways. By weaving authentic career stories into everyday learning, the initiative brings real-world relevance into the classroom, helping students see purpose in what they're studying. These genuine narratives not only make lessons more meaningful but also strengthen students' sense of agency, empowering them to take ownership of their futures. How will the videos be integrated into the curriculum? Roadtrip Nation videos will be embedded directly into Edmentum Courseware lessons, enhancing learning without disrupting the proven curriculum already in place. Each video is carefully curated by Edmentum's curriculum experts to ensure standards alignment and relevance, while the student-led interview style brings an authentic, curiosity-driven energy to instruction. This approach not only enriches the learning experience but also invites students to actively connect with real stories and real people. What benefits does Roadtrip Nation bring to students? Students will gain clear, real-world connections to the concepts they're learning by hearing from diverse professionals who share their personal career journeys. These stories help students build a stronger sense of relevance and agency, sparking curiosity and opening their eyes to pathways they may not have previously considered. Backed by research, the integration also supports improved engagement and attendance, creating a more meaningful and motivating learning experience. How does this help with student engagement? Research shows the impact is already clear: in a San Jose study, nearly seven in ten students reported that their education felt more relevant after engaging with Roadtrip Nation content. Edmentum Courseware's digital curricula augments that with a layer of mastery-based, active learning that keeps students motivated and engaged in learning, including in Clover, SC, where students using Courseware experienced 23% fewer absences. How does Roadtrip Nation support career readiness? Roadtrip Nation's story-driven interviews give students an honest look at the many ways careers can unfold, helping them understand different trajectories and explore options they may never have encountered otherwise. By hearing directly from professionals about the challenges, choices, and growth they've experienced, students become more confident and better prepared for post-secondary opportunities. The impact is clear: in a Stanford study, more than 60% of participating students discovered new potential career paths after engaging with Roadtrip Nation content. When will the integrated content be available? The integration will roll out in phases, beginning with high school core courses for the 2026-27 back-to-school season. Middle school courses will follow, expanding access to these real-world career stories across grade levels. Additionally, select videos will be incorporated into Edmentum's MajorClarity college and career planning platform, offering students even more opportunities to explore meaningful pathways for their future. Which students and educators will benefit? The integration is designed to support a wide range of learners and educators, whether students are using Edmentum Courseware in traditional classrooms or working with virtual instructors through EdOptions Academy. It also benefits teachers and counselors by providing curated, career-connected content that enhances instruction without adding to their workload, making it easier to bring real-world relevance into every learning environment.

New Acquisition by Edmentum Creates Comprehensive Platform to Help Students Chart Their Path Beyond High School

New acquisition by Edmentum creates comprehensive platform to help students chart their path beyond high school. BLOOMINGTON, Minn., Oct. 29, 2025 /PRNewswire/ - Edmentum announced its acquisition of MajorClarity, a tool that translates students' career discovery into actionable academic plans and postsecondary opportunities, from Paper. MajorClarity expands the Edmentum Career offering to become the only end-to-end solution connecting career discovery, academic planning, high-impact curricula, and certification preparation for both college-bound and career-ready pathways. Edmentum Career features 180+ CTE semesters with embedded durable skills, aligned to 57 multi-year pathways across grades 6-12. It enables students to build a deeper connection to their learning, engage in personalized career exploration, and successfully advance into relevant, desired next steps after graduation. A recent study from Gallup, the Walton Family Foundation, and Jobs for the Future found that Gen Z students have little awareness of postsecondary options, especially the available choices other than paid work or earning a bachelor's degree - such as earning an associate's degree, gaining certifications, or pursuing an internship or apprenticeship. Further, fewer than 30% of high school students feel "very prepared" to pursue any of the postsecondary options they are considering. The combined MajorClarity and Edmentum Career solution addresses these challenges directly by taking students through the full sequence from identifying their interests and learning about aligned careers, all the way through to real postsecondary preparation | including completing a capstone course to solidify employability and studying two-year or four-year colleges and technical schools relevant to their preferred course of study. "In the pursuit of college and career readiness for high school graduates, there has long been a gap between the vision - access and opportunity for all students, exposure to relevant and high-demand options, rigorous workforce-aligned learning, and the ability to enter into and succeed in both college and career - and the means for practical, scalable implementation. We believe those days are over," said Jamie Candee, President & CEO of Edmentum. "It is with tremendous enthusiasm that I announce Edmentum's acquisition of MajorClarity. This platform will combine with our robust Edmentum Career solution to transform school districts' vision of what they want to achieve, combined with their knowledge of what their curriculum and programs can support, into an actionable, sustainable system to ensure every learner is set up for postsecondary success."
