Requirements
  • Started a career in software engineering and worked as an engineer for at least 3 years before moving into product leadership.
  • Have 8+ years combined across engineering and product, with at least 4 years leading product or product engineering teams in business-to-business software as a service or enterprise software.
  • Continue to write code and use modern artificial intelligence coding tools such as Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, or equivalent tools as part of daily work, with the ability to demonstrate recently built work.
  • Have led engineering teams through platform modernization or a technology shift, including environments with legacy or on-premise constraints.
  • Have demonstrated ability to design, prototype, and ship working artificial intelligence-enabled solutions in a commercial environment.
  • Have a strong understanding of modern software architecture, application programming interfaces, cloud services, and artificial intelligence and machine learning technologies and their practical applications.
  • Have experience with agentic workflows, automation tooling, and artificial intelligence governance frameworks.
  • Be able to think across systems, integrate multiple workflows, and engage engineering teams with precision.
  • Have experience managing both a core product roadmap and client-specific custom development, balancing and prioritizing across both.
  • Have strong commercial instincts, including building business cases and deprioritizing low-return-on-investment work.
  • Have experience driving operational or digital transformation initiatives with measurable commercial outcomes.
  • Have proven ability to drive change in established environments and influence across functions without formal authority.
  • Be able to write a concise specification, run a sprint, hold engineering accountable to timelines, and communicate clearly to clients and executives.
  • Have experience engaging directly with customers or end users and be able to explain artificial intelligence systems clearly and responsibly.
  • Have a strong bias toward action, shipping solutions, measuring results, and improving based on learning.
Responsibilities
  • Own the end-to-end product and platform strategy and roadmap.
  • Drive product discovery and validation through structured customer research, rapid prototyping, and market testing.
  • Oversee the full product lifecycle from ideation through commercialization and scaling, using a clear prioritization framework.
  • Set strategic objectives and measurable success metrics for all product initiatives.
  • Balance evolution of the core platform with client-specific custom development.
  • Establish capacity visibility across the product and engineering pipeline so client commitments are made confidently and delivery delays become exceptional.
  • Make architecture and build, partner, or artificial intelligence delivery decisions that balance commercial outcomes, technical debt, and on-premise constraints.
  • Lead the team through a sustained technology shift without sacrificing current customer velocity.
  • Build working product solutions using artificial intelligence as the primary execution medium, moving from problem framing to working solution without reliance on legacy software development lifecycle rituals.
  • Rapidly prototype, iterate, and refine solutions to validate ideas early.
  • Conduct structured customer discoveries, identify high-value opportunities, and build business cases quantifying revenue uplift, cost savings, or retention impact before development commitments.
  • Leverage artificial intelligence across requirements analysis, design exploration, implementation, and testing.
  • Identify and develop new revenue streams driven by artificial intelligence capabilities.
  • Engage directly with hospitality customers to understand operational challenges and validate product assumptions.
  • Measure and report on adoption, satisfaction, and commercial impact of new features.
  • Support pricing and packaging strategies for product offerings in partnership with Sales and the Managing Director.
  • Lead the cultural shift toward artificial intelligence-first thinking across the organization.
  • Establish expectations for artificial intelligence adoption and embed artificial intelligence into day-to-day operating processes across every function.
  • Create practical enablement programs and partner with team leaders to set function-specific artificial intelligence adoption goals, track progress, and create accountability.
  • Audit business functions for high-value automation opportunities and prioritize them by impact, feasibility, and learning velocity.
  • Build and deploy working artificial intelligence agents and automated workflows that eliminate repetitive manual work.
  • Build artificial intelligence capability across teams through hands-on enablement.
  • Define success metrics for every internal artificial intelligence initiative and report measurable outcomes.
  • Act as the bridge between executive direction and ground-level product and engineering execution.
  • Collaborate with all functions to maintain alignment on product direction and delivery commitments.
  • Align teams around clearly defined artificial intelligence business outcomes and influence through credibility, evidence, and shipped results.
  • Communicate product and artificial intelligence strategy clearly and regularly to stakeholders.
  • Represent H&L externally in discussions relating to product capability and artificial intelligence innovation.
  • Build, lead, and mentor high-performing product and engineering teams.
  • Hire, develop, and retain product and engineering talent and build a team capable of scaling with the company’s ambitions.
  • Set clear performance expectations, conduct regular reviews, and support career development and progression.
  • Take accountability for outcomes from ideation through scale.
Desired Qualifications
  • Familiarity with hospitality technology, point-of-sale systems, or adjacent verticals is an advantage.

Valsoft Corporation buys software companies that serve niche, mission-critical markets and grows them over the long term. It focuses on vertical market software in industries such as automotive and broadcasting, keeping the acquired companies independent while giving them access to Valsoft’s resources, best practices, and global network. The company improves operations, expands market reach, and builds value through a persistent “buy, hold forever” approach. This portfolio-driven model differentiates Valsoft from firms that flip assets, by emphasizing long-term stability, operational excellence, and close partnerships with existing management teams. The goal is to enhance performance, achieve steady growth for portfolio companies, and broaden their market footprint across industries.
