Requirements
  • A Bachelor of Science degree in Supply Chain Management or a Business discipline is required.
  • Five to ten years of direct experience using enterprise resource planning and material requirements planning systems is required.
  • Five to ten years of broad experience in warehouse management, procurement, materials management, and related material requirements planning, distribution requirements planning, or product-specific forecasting in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Over four years of experience in a Lean manufacturing environment is required.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, is required.
  • A hands-on management style, high drive, integrity, and energy are required.
  • Strong leadership qualities are required.
  • The ability to motivate subordinates and peers and work toward common objectives through communication is required.
  • Quantitative analytical and project management skills are required.
  • A strong understanding of integrated supply chain and logistics concepts is required.
  • The ability to coordinate multiple customer needs and requirements is required.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills are required.
Responsibilities
  • Manage materials planning, procurement, warehouse, and shipping and receiving functions, including enterprise resource planning, material requirements planning, master scheduling, and supplier management.
  • Manage staffing and talent development for the Shipping, Receiving, Traffic, and Inventory Control teams.
  • Ensure on-time customer delivery performance and manage customer orders and transportation planning.
  • Develop strategies for continuous supply and timely procurement of raw materials and supplies while maintaining production levels at optimum cost and quality.
  • Manage materials profit and loss objectives, excess and obsolete inventory, and annual inventory turns.
  • Ensure safe work practices under the Company Safety Program and compliance with Occupational Safety and Health Administration and other regulatory requirements.
  • Establish procurement standards, policies, and key vendor relationships.
  • Drive cost-reduction initiatives and technology improvements.
  • Manage supplier relationships and establish supplier quality standards.
  • Staff, structure, and maintain a productive team of highly skilled employees.
  • Coordinate with customers, project managers, and production managers to deliver materials to production according to schedule.
  • Manage in-plant inventories and direct staff toward materials profit and loss objectives.
  • Ensure accurate and regular inventory cycle counts and controls.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and material control systems according to International Organization for Standardization procedures.
  • Review, plan, and approve purchase orders and change notices.
  • Manage the disposition of excess and obsolete materials.
  • Report regularly to senior management on objectives, goals, accomplishments, and expectations.
  • Train and develop the organization on Lean and world-class materials management concepts and principles.
  • Participate in strategic meetings to identify and systematically address continuity needs and improvement opportunities.
  • Maintain data integrity for AS400 material requirements planning and enterprise resource planning and SAP systems.
  • Lead the migration from AS400 to SAP material requirements planning and enterprise resource planning platforms.
Desired Qualifications
  • CPIM/APICS certification is preferred.
  • Prior experience with BPICS in the manufacturing industry would be a strong plus.
