  • Experience building sales teams that doubled or tripled merchant count year over year.
  • Comfort with artificial intelligence-first workflows using Claude, Cursor, Apollo, or Clay for prospecting, enrichment, and pipeline operations.

MONEI is an omnichannel payments platform that helps merchants accept a wide range of payment methods across online and offline channels. With a single integration, businesses can process major, alternative, and local payments, have transactions routed to the best-performing processor through payments orchestration, and sell across borders. The mobile app MONEI Pay lets merchants accept payments from anywhere without extra POS hardware. Compared with competitors, MONEI combines broad payment method support, a unified integration, optimization of routing to optimize costs and success rates (payments orchestration), cross-border selling, and a mobile solution for on-the-go payments, all aimed at increasing sales while reducing fees and risk. The company's goal is to help merchants sell more, save on transaction fees, and improve the customer experience by making payments smoother and safer across channels.

MONEI wins the 2026 Adigital Award for Scalability.

MONEI wins the 2026 Adigital Award for Scalability. MONEI July 2, 2026 On June 18th, MONEI received the 2026 Adigital Award in the Scalability category, during a ceremony held at the Fundación Francisco Giner de los Ríos in Madrid. The Adigital Awards recognize organizations and initiatives that stand out for their contribution to economic growth through technology, driving a digitalization that empowers people and acts as a driving force behind Spain's digital transformation. In this 5th edition, the jury - made up entirely of women experts in technology, child protection, innovation, and digital trust - honored four projects across as many categories: Technovation Girls (Citizenship), Qilimanjaro (Innovation), Clara 2.0 by Prodigioso Volcán (Responsible Technology), and MONEI (Scalability). The jury highlighted MONEI's growth since its founding in 2020: €197.5M processed in 2025, over 2,800 active merchants, and operational profitability achieved with a team of just 19 people, all of it self-funded. They also recognized the company's technology, which brings together Bizum, intelligent payment orchestration, machine-learning-based fraud detection, and Tap to Pay technology into a single platform built for SMEs. Its CEO, Alex Saiz Verdaguer, accepted the award and later shared a reflection on LinkedIn that goes beyond the recognition itself: "Europe can't just watch as others build the great tech companies of the future. We need more companies born here with the ambition to compete globally. More people willing to take risks. More confidence in our ability to lead." A message that captures the spirit MONEI was founded with six years ago, and one that continues to guide the company's every step: building a strong European alternative in a sector dominated by major international players. This award is, above all, a recognition of the MONEI team, who have made this growth possible every single day. Thanks also to Adigital, its jury, and everyone working to keep Spain's digital economy moving forward. ¡Seguimos! MONEI. MONEI is the leading omnichannel payments platform in Southern Europe.

According to Alex Saiz Verdaguer, founder and CEO of MONEI, Click to Pay is set to find wider berth in Europe. Discover® Global Network recently struck a partnership with MONEI, where the latter is taking on the role of Secure Remote Commerce (SRC) Initiator, enabling more than 1,000 merchants in Spain to accept Discover Click to Pay from consumers in Spain and across borders, contributing to international growth. As he noted to PYMNTS, the partnership with Discover represents a natural evolution of already extant efforts, where MONEI had already been doing secure remote commerce integrations

Ecb Renews Long-Term Commitment To Maintaining Euro Cash System

The European Central Bank (ECB) has reaffirmed its commitment to maintaining a euro cash system. Commenting on a December ECB study on the payment attitudes of consumers in the euro area in a Monday (Feb. 6) blog post, the regional bank noted that cash remains the most used form of payment for everyday transactions in the eurozone. As such, the post noted that even as noncash payment methods grow in popularity, the ECB is committed to maintaining the euro cash system for the foreseeable future. The study found that cash accounted for 59% of all payments at the point of sale (POS) and remains the preferred means of payment for 22% of those surveyed. And even though 55% of euro-area consumers reported that they prefer noncash means of payment, 60% said that they value having the option to pay in cash

The Bank Of Spain Approves The Issuing Of The First-Ever Digital Euros By Monei

MONEI, a Spanish fintech that simplifies and streamlines digital payments, has just got the green light from the Bank of Spain’s Financial Sandbox to launch its own digital euro: EURM. This project is part of the Bank of Spain’s Controlled Testing Space. Instant payments have become the new normal by enabling fast and flexible digital money flow. However, some of the biggest challenges they have faced are national borders and attachment to archaic technical financial systems. EURM facilitates Europe-wide sending of euros and online payments by creating a token using Ethereum and Polygon Blockchain technology. In the test phase, the (individual) user simply enters their phone number, verifies their identity through video identification, and loads their wallet with real euros via Bizum, the leading provider of instant payment services in Spain. Automatically, the same amount of EURM is created as the number of real euros deposited by the user and they can send EURM to the other registered users
