Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Business or Risk Management/Insurance or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience with equivalent health and welfare compliance responsibilities from a brokerage/consulting firm or law firm
  • Thorough understanding of regulatory/compliance environment related to health and welfare plan benefits
  • Outstanding oral and written communication skills (including platform presentation ability)
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Ability to break down complex material into end–user product
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Products
  • Producer Life, Accident & Health License preferred
Responsibilities
  • Provide advice in relation to the design, implementation and ongoing administration of clients’ health and welfare plans and the timely delivery of client projects including ERISA, COBRA, HIPAA, IRC Sections 125, 129 and 105(h)
  • Conduct compliance assessments (mock audits of clients’ health and welfare plans and insurance arrangements)
  • Draft regulatory documents, including plan documents and amendments required under ERISA and Code Section 125
  • Provide guidance on Form 5500 preparation, including submissions to the Department of Labor's Delinquent Filer Voluntary Compliance Program
  • Conduct HIPAA training
  • Provide general research and answers client-related questions and questions from internal account management/sales/BVIP
  • Participate in prospective client meetings and presentations
  • Draft e-Alerts, articles and other communications related to recent federal and state regulatory changes
  • Essential Functions: Conduct trainings for clients and in-house personnel of both FRP and CSG
  • Keep informed of regulatory changes likely to impact clients
  • Review, revise and draft client-specific compliance materials
  • Perform research and draft responses to compliance-related questions from both clients and in-house personnel
Desired Qualifications
  • Paralegal or CEBS Certification with ERISA/Employee Benefits experience a plus
  • JD with ERISA/Employee Benefits experience a plus
  • Producer Life, Accident & Health License preferred
