Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a nonprofit organization, with demonstrated success in fundraising and event planning.
  • Understanding of fundraising and event planning best practices.
  • Familiarity with donor databases such as Little Green Light or similar systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and concisely in written and oral formats with the general public, funding partners, donors, and stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively with people at varying levels of seniority within and outside the organization.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Basic computer skills and the ability to learn software applications relevant to the position.
  • Ability to complete assignments independently within provided instructions and standard practices.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently and meet deadlines.
  • A valid driver's license is required.
Responsibilities
  • Work with the Director of Advancement and the Executive Leadership team to manage a year-round calendar of fundraising activities, including email and direct-mail campaigns, donor solicitations and stewardship, and special events.
  • Maintain and update donor and prospect records in Little Green Light, including researching missing contact information, updating constituent records, conducting prospect research and wealth screening, and preparing relationship maps.
  • Manage logistics and coordinate with leadership, staff, volunteers, vendors, and special guests to produce fundraising and donor-engagement events.
  • Coordinate with event and development vendors by obtaining quotes, scheduling services, tracking deliverables, and assisting with invoices and related documentation.
  • Assist in preparing institutional and corporate funding proposals and reports.
  • Assist with tracking the Advancement Department budget, including revenue and expenses.
  • Support day-to-day Advancement Department operations, including gift processing, database management, donor and prospect research, reporting, and maintaining donor-record integrity.
  • Prepare donor acknowledgments, stewardship materials, and other donor communications.
  • Prepare donor, prospect, fundraising, and event reports using Little Green Light and other software.
  • Provide administrative support to the Director of Advancement, including scheduling meetings, organizing events, and assisting with special projects.
  • Organize and maintain Advancement Department files and records so information is accurate, current, and accessible.
  • Communicate with donors, prospects, vendors, and other stakeholders by phone, email, and mail.
  • Assist with the development and distribution of digital and print communications, including appeal letters, email marketing, website content, social media, event-marketing materials, and the annual report.
  • Represent MHP professionally when communicating with donors, event attendees, and other stakeholders.
  • Maintain compliance with MHP policies and procedures and report known conduct that violates policy or law to management or the appropriate internal departments.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to fulfill MHP's mission.
