Requirements
  • Solid industry knowledge covering underwriting, carrier rules, client needs, customer service, funding arrangements, and benefits-plan design options, with the ability to apply these skills to manage client benefits programs and identify solutions.
  • Ability to identify problems and risks early and develop solutions to offset them.
  • Ability to speak to groups during employee information sessions.
  • Willingness to obtain an LLQP license.
  • Ability to multitask.
Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day service and employee support to an assigned group of clients and associates.
  • Build and maintain ongoing client relationships while managing an assigned block of business.
  • Manage program performance based on plan design and financial arrangements, and implement strategies to contain costs and mitigate risk.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for ongoing client needs.
  • Define service standards with clients and manage the account lifecycle according to service agreements and commitments.
  • Coordinate workflow needs and scheduled deliverables with underwriting specialists, analysts, report writers, and customer service representatives.
  • Review benefits utilization and funding-arrangement performance to ensure plan design and pricing remain appropriate.
  • Review renewal results and negotiate with insurance carriers as appropriate.
  • Review deliverables for accuracy before client delivery.
  • Deliver mid-year, quarterly, pre-renewal, and renewal reviews to plan sponsors and associates.
  • Ensure insurance providers administer and underwrite programs appropriately and meet service standards.
  • Support plan sponsors with ongoing administrative needs and support associates when necessary.
  • Support insurance carrier contacts in collecting overdue deficits, premiums, or claim-funding adjustments.
  • Facilitate, follow up on, resolve, and communicate escalated service issues.
  • Identify opportunities to implement new products.
  • Lead implementations involving plan-design changes, amendments, pricing, flex launches, and re-enrollments.
  • Create or oversee employee communications and presentations and conduct employee-benefit sessions.
  • Provide internal support, leadership, coaching, and guidance to other integrated-solutions team members.
  • Participate in transitioning new business acquisitions to the ongoing management-service model.
  • Work with the Client Manager to ensure appropriate internal resources are assigned and available within required timeframes.
  • Build and manage effective relationships with internal staff and external business partners.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with insurance carrier staff.
  • Maintain technical and industry expertise through industry conferences and seminars.
