What believers are saying

  • Paceline's $50 million June 2024 investment funds more acquisitions.
  • Kelso added YES and ENETK in February 2025, expanding industrial automation exposure.
  • Kelso's 2026 acquisition program still actively recruits partner companies across the U.S.

What critics are saying

  • Roll-up execution risk rises as Kelso integrates electrical, automation, and HVAC brands.
  • PE dependence is total; without Oxbow, Peterson, and Paceline, acquisition growth stalls in 2026.
  • Construction slowdown or customer capex cuts hit western branch revenues quickly.

  • Kelso targets western U.S. technical-service businesses with strong employee culture.
