Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • At least 3 years of commercial lines insurance experience is required.
  • The candidate must have a strong understanding of commercial insurance products, underwriting, and servicing workflows.
  • The candidate must obtain and maintain applicable licensing as required.
  • The candidate must be able to explain technical insurance concepts clearly and effectively.
  • The candidate must have strong organizational and project management abilities.
  • The candidate must be proficient with Microsoft Office and virtual meeting or training tools.
Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, and maintain training programs for commercial lines staff, including onboarding, systems training, coverage education, and workflow procedures.
  • Conduct virtual and in-person training sessions for new hires and existing employees.
  • Develop training materials, job aids, standard operating procedures, guides, and reference resources.
  • Partner with agency leadership to identify knowledge gaps and training opportunities.
  • Provide education on general liability, commercial property, workers’ compensation, commercial auto, umbrella and excess liability, professional liability, and industry-specific programs.
  • Train staff on agency management systems, carrier platforms, and internal processes.
  • Monitor employee progress and provide coaching, feedback, and follow-up support.
  • Assist with quality assurance initiatives and workflow standardization.
  • Stay current on industry trends, carrier updates, compliance requirements, and best practices.
  • Collaborate with department managers to improve operational efficiency and service excellence.
Desired Qualifications
  • A college degree is preferred.
  • Previous training, mentoring, supervisory, or leadership experience is preferred.
  • An active Property and Casualty license is preferred.
  • Experience with Applied Epic agency management systems is preferred.
  • Curriculum development or instructional design experience is preferred.
  • Experience in independent insurance agencies is preferred.
  • Knowledge of carrier websites, carrier portals, and commercial lines marketing processes is preferred.
  • The ability to adapt training for varying experience levels and learning styles is preferred.
