ADI’s Quality Organization is seeking an experienced Failure Analysis Technician to help us understand and solve the root causes of customer returns as well as support qualification and new product introduction activities at our location in San Jose, CA.
Responsibilities and Duties include but not limited to:
Support and respond to internal and external customer requests for analyses of Maxim products. Especially,
- Sample preparation
- FA engineering support (optical inspections, x-ray, SEM)
- Meet ADI’s failure analysis cycle time and quality commitments
- Provide periodic updates on your analyses
We are seeking a technician who has experience performing the following.
- IC mechanical cross sections
- Parallel lapping to expose inner layers
- Device wet and dry chemical strip backs
- Optical, IR, and UV inspections
- FIB cross sectioning
- FIB STEM sample creation
- FIB circuit editing
- SEM inspections
- Device decapsulation
- Clear, concise, and professional documentation of results
- Reballing WLP/BGA packages
- Soldering and rework/deconstruction of PCBs
Minimum Qualifications:
- 3+ years of failure analysis experience
- High school diploma or GED certificate required; AA or college training in EE, Mat. Sci, or related field preferred.
- Experience with SEM and FIB
