Requirements
  • Bilingual verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish are strongly preferred.
  • A bachelor's degree focused on social work, human services, public health, psychology, developmental disabilities, community development, or a related field is strongly preferred.
  • Two or more years of overall professional experience working with families in housing or human services agencies is preferred.
  • Knowledge of child development or experience working with youth is required.
  • Experience overseeing and managing grants is a plus.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, and other computer programs is required.
  • Previous experience in property management and knowledge of Department of Housing and Urban Development regulations are a plus.
  • Previous engagement, communication, and collaboration with residents from diverse socioeconomic and cultural backgrounds are preferred.
  • Experience working with partners and site team members to implement programs and initiatives is required.
  • A background check and drug screening are required.
  • A valid driver's license and clean driving record are required.
Responsibilities
  • Assess residents' individual needs for social service intervention through property-management referrals or resident self-referrals.
  • Assess and coordinate services with third-party nonprofit social service providers.
  • Establish community relationships that help residents identify and manage their social service needs.
  • Create and sustain partnerships with community-based social service providers and other community stakeholders.
  • Develop strategic partnerships with local service providers to bring on-site programs or provide referrals to off-site programs and services in education, youth development, health, workforce development, financial stability, and asset building.
  • Provide non-clinical case management and referral services to all residents, including securing the full range of social services that individual residents need.
  • Initiate strategic relationships with local service providers and stakeholders.
  • Work with property management staff, family, child and eldercare service providers, behavioral and mental health care providers, and medical care professionals to resolve issues while maintaining confidentiality.
  • Build relationships with residents to understand their needs and aspirations and connect them with local resources and opportunities.
  • Conduct welcome orientations for new residents.
  • Create consistent outreach and communication with residents through newsletters, flyers, telephone calls, and home visits.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of resident demographics, issues, requests, statistics, incidents, interactions, and outcomes using services software.
  • Align initiatives with the resident services program's outcomes, mission, and goals.
  • Coordinate resources around critical issues such as housekeeping and money management for residents with late rent payments.
  • Manage administrative tasks required to secure and execute contracts or memoranda of understanding with providers and partners.
  • Develop and maintain linkages with area resources, including third-party providers, regarding information and services available to address the community's social and recreational needs and individual resident needs.
