Requirements
  • Degree (SCQF Level 9) in Civil Engineering, Transportation or equivalent
  • Significant experience in the Roads and Transportation industry
  • Leadership, team-building and relationship-management skills
  • Strong IT skills and willingness to embrace technology
  • Political awareness and experience engaging with elected members
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire a team, promoting a positive culture in the workplace
  • Ability to travel within Fife
  • Proven experience in roads / transportation or asset management
  • Strong understanding of road maintenance, condition and legislation
  • A confident leader who can turn data into decisions
  • Ability to work across teams and influence at all levels
  • Excellent communication skills, able to make complex issues clear
Responsibilities
  • Leading the network condition and maintenance programme across Fife
  • Turning condition data into clear, deliverable investment plans
  • Overseeing inspections, surveys and network performance reporting
  • Managing resources and coordinating delivery across teams
  • Providing clear, confident advice to senior leaders and elected members
  • Driving continuous improvement and best value service delivery
  • Responding to real-world issues, from customer concerns to network risks
