The Distribution Area Manager will be responsible for the management of all activities and personnel related to shipping, receiving, storing of materials and/or finished goods. You will contribute to the development of a workplace culture that reflects ResMed’s organizational values, standards, core competencies and behaviors.
Job Environment:
Warehouse environment. Incumbent will walk and may occasionally sit, kneel, crouch, crawl and lift up to 40lbs. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to high. Must be flexible to work varying schedules, hours, and overtime as needed. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Let’s talk about Responsibilities:
- Ensures materials are received from proper vendors, delivered to inventory and finished goods; packaged according to specification; and shipped in a timely manner.
- Manages receipt of all materials to ensure quality.
- Ensures quality objectives are met while operating within the allocated budget and meeting delivery deadlines while being flexible and working efficiently.
- Manages inventory control to ensure security accountability of materials and goods.
- Establish appropriate communications, (content and frequency), with team required to align focus and efforts with organizational and customer needs.
- Briefs Lead/Team on daily areas of focus.
- Establishes and modifies operational methods and procedures.
- Establishes and recommends changes to policies which may improve the organization.
- Maintains documentation and prepares reports which reflect the effectiveness and efficiency of department activities.
- Fosters an environment that harbors continuous improvement and the elimination of non-value-added steps.
- Establishes goals which meet or exceed departmental objectives.
- Manages subordinates in the achievement of goals and objectives.
- Interacts with peer group, senior management, and field personnel to problem solve and/or resolves issues among functional areas, other sites, or customers and the company.
- Manages the coordination of activities within the department with responsibility for costs, methods, and employees.
- Responsible for staff training.
- Manages and sustains product traceability systems, utilizing WMS/Oracle, to support customer and quality requirements.
- Ensures health, safety and cleanliness of the work environment overseeing that inspection and maintenance of equipment is done on a regular basis.
- Carries out responsibility for the use of mechanized and computerized systems.
- Leads department in continual forward development through a thorough understanding of the business objectives and planned growth.
- Knowledge and understanding of federal and local OSHA safety regulations related to warehousing and shipping environments.
- Responsible for site maintenance through nominated contracted workers.
- Other tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Let’s talk about Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum 10+ years’ experience in a warehouse/distribution environment.
- Minimum 3+ years of supervisory experience.
- Must have demonstrated experience in implementing inventory control systems, distribution operations programs, or continual improvement programs.
- Strong familiarity with MS Office applications.
- Prior WMS experience.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Must possess a customer-centric commitment to build and maintain customer relationships.
- Display energetic, self-motivated, and quick thinking with positive attitude.
Desirable:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience with Oracle or comparable Supply Chain/Logistics systems
- Experience with HighJump WMS System

Individual pay decisions are based on a variety of factors, such as the candidate’s geographic work location, relevant qualifications, work experience, and skills.
At ResMed, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range for this position is:
$80,000 – $120,000 USD Annual.
