About This Role
Within our Product, Design, and Engineering org, the Growth team’s mission is to help the greatest possible number of people understand Divvy’s value proposition and products and successfully shop for a home.
To achieve their mission, the Growth team is focused on customer-centric and data-informed efforts to:
- Increase awareness of Divvy and the number of customers who find and land on Divvy.com.
- Educate the customer and earn their trust as they learn about how Divvy can help them become a homeowner.
- Relentlessly improve the “top of funnel” customer journey from landing to sign up, application, and approval.
- Innovate on the Divvy home search and shopping experience, empowering the customers to find their future home.
To be successful in this position, you’ll balance people, project, and software engineering management while partnering with product, design, and marketing to ensure your team is working on the highest-impact opportunities.
This role reports to the VP of Engineering.
We have a documented equal pay policy, and do not negotiate on offers. To maintain fairness and keep starting total comp the same for anyone who comes into that position, individual pay is determined by role, level and work location only. At offer stage, we give candidates 3 different offers to choose from depending on how they want to favor cash vs equity. The US-based salary range for this position is $226,250 to $282,500 + equity + benefits. Please note: We have two different compensation tiers depending on your location. The range displayed reflects the Tier 2 minimum and Tier 1 maximum new hire salary across all US locations. Your Recruiter will discuss the relevant compensation range during your initial screen.

- Continually grow and evolve the team’s capabilities.
As the owner of the engineering function for the team, the Engineering Manager has these responsibilities:
People: Build a diverse, inclusive, high-functioning team by:
- Creating and executing on an engineering hiring plan.
- Deeply understanding career goals, motivations, strengths, and areas for development.
- Enabling growth via support, feedback, and coaching.
Technology: Ensure the tech can successfully support the team’s goals/strategy/vision by:
- Building a strong directional understanding for the technology.
- Partnering with the team’s Tech Lead on a go-forward strategy.
- Continually lifting quality and velocity by integrating technical goals/projects into the team’s plans.
Execution: Deliver with quality, predictability, and impact by:
- Contributing insight/input to product direction and software design.
- Architecting the development schedule/approach, and creatively solving for challenges that arise.
- Defining, operating, and continually evolving/improving development processes, including how software is designed, built, tested, released.
Skills & Experience:
- 5+ years of professional software engineering, successfully crafting and shipping highest quality software experiences.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to achieve business impact.
- Proven leadership experience, organizing and inspiring a group of engineers to achieve challenging goals.
- Demonstrated project management skills, including the ability to pragmatically balance between resourcing/scope/time.
- Highly effective written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.
- Enthusiasm for, and experience with, recruiting, retaining, and developing incredible talent.
