Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in a life science, healthcare administration, computer science, information systems, informatics, or a related study is required, with an Associate's degree and two years of directly related work experience or a high school diploma or equivalent and four years of directly related work experience accepted as substitutes.
  • Epic certification in the primary build application is required and must be maintained.
  • Epic Healthy Planet or Epic Compass Rose certification is required or preferred as specified for the application.
  • A minimum of five years of configuration experience with Epic software products is required.
Responsibilities
  • Lead application-specific content configuration for growth projects and new entity integration initiatives.
  • Lead and facilitate meetings to review end-user performance, track and trend issues, analyze workflow problems and system capabilities, monitor feedback, and identify potential system enhancement needs.
  • Oversee and direct workflow analysis, collect data, produce reports, and investigate issues supporting technical and business decision-making associated with the Epic software.
  • Assist with and coordinate change processes, content governance, and prioritization; implement approved new development, system enhancements, and releases.
  • Troubleshoot problems and respond to questions from the Service Desk and end users in a timely manner.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot and resolve application issues and system errors.
  • Lead the evaluation and implementation of new module releases.
  • Identify, analyze, and recommend improvements and enhancements to operational processes and system automation.
  • Provide status reports and update trackers for IT/CE and facility development projects, service line expansions, break/fixes, planned upgrades, and other aspects of the IT/CE program portfolio.
  • Provide consulting support to Business Relationship Management teams to analyze business operations, investigate end-user preferences, and incorporate informatics best practices when making build decisions.
  • Create security classification templates that provide the appropriate level of access while protecting patient health information.
  • Design, modify, and implement testing processes, including script development, recording test results, facilitating end-user testing, testing hardware, and maintaining test environments.
  • Coordinate and participate in application upgrades and changes.
  • Monitor and collaborate with stakeholders during the integration of interfaced applications to protect system and patient data integrity.
  • Analyze, design, configure, test, and evaluate new or changed clinical and business application functionality and workflows to meet enterprise requirements; manage master file changes for new features.
  • Collaborate with Cogito analysts and others for Epic native reports and dashboards.
  • Provide information and support to Instructional Designers to facilitate training development.
  • Ensure interoperability between Epic applications and other supporting applications.
  • Communicate with vendors regarding technical issues with Epic integration.
  • Apply information technology trends and existing, new, and emerging technologies to enable new and evolving business and operating models related to Epic software.
  • Participate in the evaluation and selection of software product standards and services and in the design of standard and custom software configurations.
  • Analyze the business-IT environment to detect critical deficiencies and recommend solutions for improvement, differentiation, and innovation.
  • Maintain regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies and applicable standards.
  • Maintain compliance with Orlando Health policies and procedures.
  • Solve unique problems within the Epic application that have a broad impact on associated business functions and require conceptual and innovative thinking.
  • Provide remote end-user support, including participation in on-call service rotations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Florida Cancer Specialists & Research Institute has opened a new 31,000-square-foot facility at Orlando Health Institute Square in St. Petersburg, expanding cancer care access in Pinellas County.
