Requirements
  • At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role within the hospitality industry, preferably in operations.
  • A proven track record in needs assessment and facilitation of training programs that drive service excellence results.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Microsoft Teams, PowerPoint, Publisher, Excel, and Word.
  • The ability to build strong relationships.
  • The ability to prioritize tasks and demonstrate a sense of urgency.
  • The ability to work flexibly and under pressure while remaining results-oriented.
  • The ability to analyze data and trends and create improvement strategies.
Responsibilities
  • Facilitate Accor and property training programs for colleagues and leaders, including Train the Trainer, Interaction Management, Leadership Orientation, and other development courses.
  • Execute and update the onboarding program for several hundred new colleagues each year.
  • Evaluate the hotel's annual Learning and Development strategies and programming with the Director, People and Culture and Hotel Leadership Team.
  • Determine the need for new workshops and training programs and assist in creating and facilitating them.
  • Build interpersonal relationships that support coaching and guidance for leaders and colleagues and maintain engagement across the hotel.
  • Review departmental job task checklists with operational leaders, ensure onboarding and training tools are in place, and track checklist completion.
  • Support and develop departmental trainers and ensure training compliance and consistency across hotel departments.
  • Maintain accurate records of training activities and participant information and communicate completion rates to the Leadership Team.
  • Support apprenticeship programs throughout the hotel.
  • Oversee and manage the Educational Assistance Program with support from the Director, People and Culture.
  • Oversee the colleague performance review program to ensure probationary and annual reviews are completed properly.
  • Use an online training system to assign mandatory courses, monitor progress, and track completion.
  • Collaborate with regional Learning and Development Managers through regular monthly calls to align regional strategic direction.
  • Support overall People and Culture operations and other departmental functions, including travel and other assigned duties.
Desired Qualifications
  • Previous Learning and Development experience is an asset.
  • A university degree in Hotel/Restaurant Management or a related discipline is a strong asset.
