Requirements
  • Current registration with the Texas State Board of Pharmacy or national pharmacy technician certification through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board or the National Healthcareer Association.
  • Four years of in-field experience.
  • At least two years of hospital and sterile compounding experience, with ACPE IV or sterile compounding certification.
Responsibilities
  • Design and deliver class instruction for residential and blended delivery by developing instructional plans to meet course competencies, creating activities that support lesson objectives, and delivering approved instruction.
  • Enable students to achieve prescribed exit competencies and evaluate learning by providing competency-based instruction, establishing student performance criteria, and conducting evaluations.
  • Establish online blended and classroom environments conducive to learning, student involvement, and student success.
  • Provide weekly student feedback, including comprehensive feedback at the conclusion of the mid-term mark, and provide struggling students with opportunities to improve.
  • Promote student success by adapting teaching style and work schedule, engaging students in the learning process, and supporting their learning.
  • Manage the learning environment by keeping accurate records, taking attendance, submitting grades and reports on time, and enforcing academic and attendance policies.
  • Attend most general faculty, departmental, and school-wide meetings.
  • Participate actively in at least one special project committee each year as campus service.
  • Maintain professional and technical skills, incorporate industry perspectives into courses, and stay aware of professional and industry trends and opportunities.
  • Answer questions about program content that may affect curriculum and course objective delivery.
  • Attend the annual Program Advisory Committee meeting for the relevant program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Teaching experience is preferred but not required.
