Requirements
  • Strong understanding of construction quality management systems and standards.
  • In-depth knowledge of Inspection and Test Plans, Non-Conformance Reports, and Material Approval Processes.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific codes and regulations.
  • Proficiency in reviewing construction drawings and technical submittals.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the consistent implementation of quality standards across all construction activities.
  • Supervise, mentor, and provide technical guidance to Quality Control Coordinators.
  • Assign, schedule, and monitor daily quality control tasks to ensure timely and thorough execution.
  • Oversee field inspections, material testing, and quality checks conducted by Quality Control Coordinators, ensuring adherence to project specifications.
  • Review and validate inspection reports and Non-Conformance Reports prior to submission to the Construction Quality Control Manager.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and traceability of inspections, test results, and quality control activities in accordance with project record-keeping protocols.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and third-party inspectors to ensure compliance with approved quality plans and contractual requirements.
  • Assist the Construction Quality Control Manager in reviewing, revising, and maintaining quality-related components of the Construction Quality Management Plan.
  • Collaborate with construction teams to address and resolve Non-Conformances promptly.
  • Monitor compliance with Inspection and Test Plans, project specifications, and quality procedures.
  • Conduct regular quality briefings and training sessions for site personnel to promote quality awareness.
  • Participate in kick-off and pre-activity meetings to ensure all trades understand quality requirements before commencing work.
  • Support the Construction Quality Control Manager in continuous improvement initiatives, audits, and root cause analyses.
  • Lead periodic internal quality audits and assist in external audit readiness and responses.

Acciona acquires 80% of Vertical Earth to accelerate US infrastructure growth

Acciona has agreed to acquire 80% of Vertical Earth, a Georgia-based infrastructure contractor, consolidating Atlanta as the strategic centre for its Infrastructure division's growth in the United States. The deal is expected to close before year-end, subject to regulatory approvals. Brett Johnson, Vertical Earth's founder and CEO, will retain 20% and continue leading the company. Founded in 1997, Vertical Earth generated revenues of $217 million (€191 million) in 2025 and employs over 600 professionals in Georgia and Florida. The acquisition strengthens Acciona's self-execution capacity in a strategic market. The US represents 20% of the global infrastructure industry, with potential contracts worth $303 billion this year. Acciona's Infrastructure division is expanding across the US with major projects including the SR400 motorway in Atlanta and bridge replacement over the Calcasieu River in Louisiana.
