Requirements
  • 5+ years of industry experience as a Data Scientist, Analyst or similar technical role
  • Demonstrable expertise in coding, programming concepts, and technical tools, combined with the enthusiasm and passion to build. Must be expert at using Python
  • Advanced knowledge and experience using relational databases (SQL, PostgreSQL, etc.) and knowledge of best practices for Data Engineering
  • Strong understanding of both common and advanced Data Science modeling tools and technologies (eg. numpy, sklearn, pytorch, etc.)
  • Experience driving Data Science analysis end-to-end, working closely with Engineering and Product to productionize pipelines, surfacing insights scalably
  • Experience driving cross functional alignment across major technical programs
  • Proven ability to communicate technical, data-driven analysis to both technical and non-technical audiences across stakeholders, including translating and cascading Executive input into their work
Responsibilities
  • Work with Engineering and Operations teams to inform the development of the Aurora Driver and streamline critical validation activities
  • Partner closely with stakeholders to design and implement analysis, metrics, and dashboards to accelerate development processes
  • Collaborate with a team of Data Scientists and Analysts on Data Science problems spanning multiple subsystems
  • Develop statistical models to support forecasting and planning across various problem areas
  • Work closely with engineering and product leads to support decisions with data-driven input
  • Collaborate with Data Science and Analytics communities to ensure adoption of best practices, tools, and processes

Aurora is developing the Aurora Driver, an intelligent autonomous driving system designed for multiple vehicle types, including freight-hauling trucks and ride-hailing passenger vehicles. The technology incorporates a fusion of sensor types, high definition mapping data, and continuous training on public roads and in virtual tests to ensure safe and efficient autonomous transport.
