- A high school diploma or GED, or 10 years of work experience.
- No prior experience is required.
- Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification from the American Heart Association is required.
- Ability to stand and walk constantly; lift, carry, push, and pull objects weighing 0–25 pounds frequently and 25–50 pounds occasionally; and occasionally lift or move patients.
- Ability to perform frequent reaching, gripping, keyboard use, and data entry, with occasional bending, stooping, crawling, kneeling, sitting, squatting, and repetitive foot, leg, hand, and arm movements.
- Ability to use hearing, speech, vision, and smell as required for patient care, communication, alarms, spatial relationships, and odor detection.
- Occasional driving is required.
- Assist with provider-ordered treatments under the supervision of a provider, registered nurse, or licensed practical nurse, and perform select clinical duties.
- Interview patients, measure vital signs, record patient information in charts, and prepare examination rooms.
- Perform basic clerical duties, including answering the phone, maintaining records, and filing.
- Order and stock supplies and help maintain a clean and orderly environment.
- Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
