Position Description:

The JCM Manufacturing Engineering Co-op is responsible for identifying, designing, and implementing improvements to equipment and processes in support of the corrective and preventative action (CAPA) program and continuous improvement efforts at Johns Creek Manufacturing.

Key Responsibilities:

The JCM Manufacturing Engineering Co-op will often work collaboratively between production, quality, engineering, and MS&T to support and implement projects. The JCM Manufacturing Engineering Co-op is responsible for using process data to identify quality and efficiency improvement opportunities.  This will include things like project-based tasks like focusing on: data analytics and data review. Also, executive and organization of project related tasks.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Must be enrolled in an accredited university or college for at least one semester prior to internship or co-op, and at least one additional semester following internship or co-op.

• Must be pursuing at least a bachelor’s level degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Engineering or related major.

• Academic performance: Minimum cumulative GPA 2.8/4.0

• Demonstrated leadership skills (i.e. extracurricular activities or projects)

• Must be authorized to work in the US on a permanent basis without requiring sponsorship (students on an F1 visa with CPT can be accommodated)

• Ability to commit to a full time (40 hrs. per week) Co-Op position.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Technical problem-solving skills with ability to identify root cause and drive corrective actions.

• Background/Coursework in continuous improvement (Kaizen, Lean, Six Sigma)

• Experience/Coursework in Data Analytics systems (Tableau, Minitab, Databases)

• Knowledge/understanding of ISO9000/ISO13485/FDA 21 CFR.820 and medical device manufacturing environment.
