Responsibilities
  • Provides day-to-day direction to the ophthalmic photographer and ophthalmic echographer staff in support areas, as assigned
  • Adjusts daily schedules based on patient schedules, available staffing, and patient flow in the clinic areas
  • Responds to clinical and patient demands throughout the day to provide efficient staff utilization and maintain patient flow and consistency
  • Prepares staffing assignments to include accommodations for the clinical research study patients
  • Possesses broad clinical experience to supervise and perform ophthalmic imaging evaluations as needed
  • Manages equipment and capital assets including, but not limited to, maintenance needs, software upgrades, purchase requests, installations, equipment retirement, inventory assessment, and capital replacement planning
  • Maintains a strong understanding of the clinical information systems that support the technical functions
  • Manages the interview, hire, and onboarding processes of new hire imaging staff
  • Mentors staff to foster growth and development opportunities within the organization
  • Identifies training needs of the staff and provides training opportunities to maintain competency
  • Monitors staff productivity and performance goals
  • Ensures daily operation of clinical areas meets the needs of the patients and physicians, and is provided according to the accepted standards of care
  • Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures
  • Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures
