The Digital Audio Group drove growth with revenue of $364 million, up 12.4%. Podcast revenue jumped 20.7% to $162 million. The division's adjusted EBITDA rose 14.5% to $123 million, marking the sixth consecutive quarter it exceeded the Multiplatform Group. Free cash flow improved significantly to $46 million from negative $13 million in the prior year quarter. The Multiplatform Group saw revenue decline 1.6% to $536 million. iHeartMedia expanded video podcast distribution through partnerships with Netflix and Hulu. The company expects programmatic revenue to grow approximately 50% in 2026. Net debt stood at approximately $4.7 billion at quarter end.
Disney+ and Hulu expand into video podcasts with iHeartMedia deal. Aug 11, 2026 Disney+ and Hulu are expanding their video offerings beyond traditional shows and movies through a new partnership with iHeartMedia. The companies announced Monday, August 10, that they have reached a deal to bring six iHeartPodcasts titles to their streaming platforms. The rollout begins with Hey Jonas!, the official podcast hosted by Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas. The move gives Disney+ and Hulu another way to keep viewers engaged while the streaming business becomes increasingly competitive. Video podcasts have also attracted attention from other major streaming platforms, including Netflix and HBO Max. When the first podcast arrives. Hey Jonas! will begin streaming on both Disney+ and Hulu on August 14. The timing gives the Jonas Brothers podcast an especially strong Disney connection. Its first episode will highlight Camp Rock ahead of the Disney+ premiere of Camp Rock 3. The Jonas Brothers will also appear at D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event during the opening weekend of the podcast. The podcast gives Kevin, Joe and Nick Jonas a chance to talk more directly with fans through conversations that go beyond their music careers. Six podcasts are joining the streaming lineup. The iHeartMedia agreement covers six titles that will arrive across Disney+ and Hulu in phases. Pod Meets World will stream on Disney+ beginning August 24. The podcast features Danielle Fishel, Will Friedle and Rider Strong, who starred together on Boy Meets World. The show revisits memories from the sitcom while bringing the longtime friends together for new conversations and guests. Hulu will receive several additional shows. Desperately Devoted will begin streaming November 2. Hosted by Teri Hatcher, Andrea Bowen and Emerson Tenney, the podcast revisits Desperate Housewives while adding commentary and personal perspectives from its hosts. Fake Doctors, Real Friends with Zach and Donald will arrive on Hulu later this year. The show features Scrubs stars Zach Braff and Donald Faison as they revisit episodes of the popular comedy series and share behind-the-scenes memories. Discover more Criminal Law Concerts & Music Festivals The remaining additions are StraightioLab and Thanks Dad with Ego Nwodim, both of which are also scheduled to arrive on Hulu in the fall. Disney is building a bigger podcast strategy. The iHeartMedia partnership is not Disney's first move into video podcasts. Disney+ and Hulu already feature podcasts connected to entertainment properties and popular television shows. Their existing lineup includes licensed podcasts, rewatch programs and companion podcasts tied to shows such as Paradise, American Idol and Dancing with the Stars. The new agreement expands that strategy by bringing established iHeartPodcasts directly into the streaming environment. For viewers, that means podcasts can become part of the same entertainment ecosystem as movies, television series and other streaming programming. Video podcasts are becoming a bigger streaming trend. Disney's move comes as video podcasts become increasingly important to major entertainment platforms. Netflix and HBO Max have also expanded into the format, signaling that streaming companies see opportunities beyond traditional scripted and unscripted programming. Reuters reported that Netflix has also made podcast deals with Spotify and iHeartMedia. For streaming services, podcasts can provide a relatively direct connection between viewers and familiar personalities. They can also extend the life of popular television shows by giving fans additional conversations and behind-the-scenes material. What the deal means for Disney+ and Hulu subscribers. The partnership gives subscribers access to recognizable names and established podcast franchises without requiring them to leave their streaming services. The six shows will be introduced gradually rather than all at once. Hey Jonas! leads the rollout on August 14, followed by Pod Meets World on August 24 and additional Hulu titles later in the year. Discover more World News Financial terms of the agreement were not disclosed by Disney or iHeartMedia. A new role for podcasts on streaming services. The deal reflects a broader shift in how Americans consume entertainment. Podcasts have increasingly moved from an audio-first experience toward video, creating new opportunities for personalities, creators and entertainment companies. For Disney+ and Hulu, the iHeartMedia partnership provides another way to turn familiar franchises and celebrity personalities into recurring streaming content. With Hey Jonas! arriving just days from now, subscribers will get an early look at how Disney's video podcast strategy fits into the larger streaming lineup.
Fan-Favorite iHeartMedia podcasts are coming to Disney+ and Hulu. Disney and iHeartMedia have reached an expansive new deal that will bring six fan-favorite podcasts to Disney+ and Hulu. The headline podcast is Hey Jonas!, a new podcast from the Jonas Brothers, which will debut on Disney's streaming services on August 13, with a new episode dedicated to Camp Rock 3. Also joining the Disney library will be Thanks Dad with Ego Nwodim, Pod Meets World, Fake Doctors, Real Friends, Desperately Devoted, and StraightioLab. "Podcasting continues to evolve as audiences increasingly want to engage with the shows and personalities they love in more ways and across more platforms. Disney+ and Hulu have built powerful streaming destinations with incredibly passionate fan communities, making them ideal partners to expand the reach of these beloved iHeartPodcasts," said Bob Pittman, Chairman and CEO of iHeartMedia. "From iconic rewatch series and fan-favorite conversations to original storytelling, this deal gives both existing listeners and new viewers an easy way to discover and connect with some of podcasting's most engaging voices through video." Why these shows? Looking over the list of podcasts, it is clear that many were chosen, at least in part, because of their Disney connections. Fake Doctors, Real Friends, for example, features Scrubs stars Zach Braff and Donald Faison as its hosts. The original Scrubs series moved from NBC to ABC midway through its run, while ABC and Hulu air the revival. Pod Meets World, on the other hand, features Boy Meets World stars Danielle Fishel, Rider Strong, and Will Friedle as its hosts. Not only did ABC produce the original Boy Meets World, but its spinoff, Girl Meets World, was also a Disney Channel series. Desperately Devoted is a rewatch podcast for ABC's Desperate Housewives, hosted by Teri Hatcher and Andrew Bowen. "Fans can't get enough of the stories and talent they love. And podcasts have become one of the fastest-growing ways for audiences to connect with them," said Disney's Lauren Tempest. "These new video podcasts from iHeartMedia bring fans closer to their favorite worlds and the creators behind them. We're thrilled to make them available on Disney+ and Hulu as part of an even richer streaming experience."

'Brands are very interested': iHeart to launch dynamic video ads in vodcasts this year. Published on: 6th August 2026 at 11:30 AM ARN's podcasting platform iHeart will roll out dynamic video ads "later this year", opening up a major opportunity for brands. This month, ARN officially launched video podcasts (vodcasts) on the platform, although it has been testing this format since June. The new product launch introduces full-length video podcasts alongside iHeart Highlights, a new vertical video feed. Video podcasts from Australian True Crime, The Interface (BBC), Double A Chattery, No Dribble, Las Culturistas, She's On The Money, The Daily Aus, and Two Good Sports are now available, with more to come. At present, brands are able to sponsor video podcasts but only audio advertising is being inserted into the ad breaks. That will soon change, according to ARN chief digital and technology officer Ben Campbell, in what is a major evolution of the platform and ARN's advertising offering. "Later this year we'll launch dynamic video ad serving into vodcasts. That's where we serve an actual video ad into the ad breaks," Campbell told B&T, adding that testing is currently taking place. "That's when we will start to see a podcast enter a very new space where we can do everything from your baked-in integrations, branded content, sponsorships and dynamically served video ads into that content. "It's massive for ARN and the next transition of our strategy to become not just an entertainment company for consumers, but an entertainment company for advertisers." At ARN's upfront event last year, chief executive Michael Stephenson laid out a vision that ARN would transition from an audio business into an entertainment company. Once dynamic video ads are being served, it will provide brands with opportunities to reach audiences with ads in broadcast radio, streaming radio, podcasting, premium video, live events and short form video discovery. "There's been a huge amount of interest from brands because a lot of businesses recognise the value and the power of podcasting, and when you combine that with video it's a really unique opportunity," Campbell said. For ARN, dynamic video advertising not only provides brands with a richer advertiser ecosystem, but could translate to an uplift in ad sales. According to the CRA's The Infinite Dial report, 55 per cent of Australians consume podcasts monthly with video podcasts contributing a five percentage point lift on audio. About a third of Australians watch vodcasts each week. In America, that figure is around 55 per cent of people aged 12 and older. iHeart isthe latest platform to offer vodcast viewing after YouTube, Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
