Erdman Automation Introduces New Spacer Application Technology

Erdman Automation introduces new spacer application technology. Erdman Automation will debut its spacer application technology, the Cohesive Bond High Speed (CBHS) line paired with H.B. Fuller 4SG, at GlassBuild America 2025, taking place in Orlando, Florida, November 4 - 6, 2025. Building on the success of Reactive Thermoplastic Spacer (TPS) systems, Erdman's CBHS line introduces a dual-application method that changes how insulating glass units are built, enhancing speed, precision and long-term performance. This method combined with Reactive TPS enables the cohesive bond due to its consistent quality and performance. Erdman Automation partnered directly with H.B. Fuller to develop an exclusive formula tailored for the CBHS line. Features of CBHS. * Faster, smarter output that saves approximately 15+ seconds per unit with cohesive bond high-speed design. * Applies the 4SG to both glass lites. * Immediate green strength. Units can be moved or processed instantly. No waiting for wet-out. * Grid-friendly design. Spacer creates a shelf to hold grids in place during assembly. No manual pocketing. * Supports wider airspace. Expands from 19 millimeters to 38 millimeters, while also supporting triple and thin-triple configurations. * Streamlined operation. Requires only 3 direct operators. * Thermal and visual gains. Uses less material, improves sightlines and reduces thermal bridging. * Consistent seals at scale. Reactive 4SG formulas bond directly to the glass with airtight, moisture- resistant precision. * Reduces WIP and accelerates throughput * Eliminates the need for extended compression times or added holding equipment * Dual applicators, built-in redundancy, improves grid application and retention * Increases airspace opportunity * On-the-fly airspace changes (allows batching-by-job versus airspace) * Dual gas press for increased speed and gas fill percentage * Sets the stage for potential reduction of secondary seal What Erdman leadership says. "This is more than a speed upgrade. CBHS and cohesive bond 4SG give fabricators immediate handling strength, improved grid application and location retention, reduced cycle time, and better finished overall dimensional control while using less material and achieving better results," says Morgan Donohue, President of Erdman Automation. The CBHS line will be live and on display in the Erdman Automation booth, booth 14064, at GlassBuild America 2025. Erdman invites attendees to witness this new standard in high-speed spacer application. For more information on the 4SG spacer technology, visit H.B. Fuller at booth 21051 during GlassBuild America 2025.
