- Master’s Degree in clinical or counseling Psychology, Social Work, or a related subject area.
- Professional licensure as an LPC-Associate, LMFT-Associate, or LMSW under clinical supervision is required.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required to travel to clients’ homes and possibly transport multiple clients at once.
- Willingness and ability to live locally within 1 hour of the noted territory.
- Willingness and ability to provide therapy inside the family home as a regular part of the position.
- Willingness and ability to maintain a flexible, non-traditional schedule, including evenings and weekends as needed.
- Willingness and ability to regularly travel throughout the full identified service territory to meet with families and provide services where needed.
- Provide direct clinical treatment using the Multisystemic Therapy treatment model and principles.
- Conduct a thorough assessment of the client and family by gathering information on behaviors of concern and family and ecological strengths to inform conceptualization of problem behaviors and family interactions.
- Engage the primary caregiver, family members, supports, and community agency staff, including school, probation, and child welfare personnel, in change-oriented treatment.
- Dedicate time to weekly case planning and evaluation of case progress with ongoing support from supervisors and team members.
- Receive regular training, professional development, supervision, and consultation to acquire extensive clinical skills within the Multisystemic Therapy treatment model.
- Assure, along with fellow clinicians, that clients have access to support 24 hours per day, 7 days per week as needed.
- Direct use of pragmatic family therapies, including structural, strategic, and functional approaches.
- Therapy with children and adults using cognitive-behavioral techniques.
- Couples therapy using behaviorally based approaches.
- Implementation of interventions within or between systems in the youth’s natural ecology, including family, peer, school, and neighborhood systems.
- Collaboration and partnership with community agencies.
- Previous work providing in-home or community-based therapy services.
- Comfort working with a diverse community of clients.
- Knowledge of the types of families in the community.
- Full licensure as an LPC, LMFT, or LCSW.
