Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED, or equivalent years of experience, is required.
  • Two years of experience are required.
  • The role requires constant standing and walking; frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, reaching, gripping, keyboard use, data entry, and near and far vision; occasional bending, stooping, climbing, crawling, kneeling, sitting, squatting, twisting, repetitive foot, leg, hand, and arm movements, lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling objects weighing 25–50 pounds, and visual judgment of distances, spatial relationships, and colors; rare use of smell to detect or recognize odors and driving.
  • No professional license or certification is required.
Responsibilities
  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance related to facilities, equipment, and associated systems, including fire systems, tube systems, equipment repair, nurse call, infant abduction systems, life-safety components, paging systems, medical gas systems, locks, and door repair.
  • Perform repairs according to work orders or verbal instructions and compile proper documentation according to established policies and procedures.
  • Identify and request parts and components needed to complete maintenance tasks.
  • Work with vendors, contractors, and factory representatives regarding the repair and replacement of equipment.
  • Assist contractors and other personnel with connections and shut-offs for water and fire systems.
  • Perform basic plumbing, electrical, and appliance repairs, including changing light bulbs, replacing ballasts, and installing light fixtures.
  • Perform carpentry and minor construction projects, including installing or repairing drywall, walls, flooring, ceramic tile, cabinetry, countertops, shelving, and painting.
  • Assist in maintaining a clean and safe work environment by removing debris and trash, lifting and moving materials and equipment, sweeping floors, and storing materials.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
