  • Experience managing and growing high performing engineering teams
  • Solid knowledge of engineering best practices, including architecture and testing
  • In-depth experience with a JVM-based language
  • Experience working with/building data-intensive applications and with relational databases (Postgres, MySQL, SQL Server, Oracle)
  • Experience designing and building microservices
  • Good communication and writing skills including experience writing technical documentation
  • Experience working with product and commercial organisations
  • Experience of AWS (desirable), experience of Docker/Kubernetes (good to have)
  • Experience of working in a startup/scale-up environment
Responsibilities
  • Take ownership for team members' growth and development, hiring and onboarding new team members

  • Mentor and coach team members, while being open to new ideas and technologies
  • Set the direction for the team and take accountability for tech decisions
  • Work alongside the product counterpart, being accountable for delivery against the roadmap
  • Collaborate within the team and across the tribe to ensure implementation meets industry standards
