Job purpose:
As the Senior Manager, Distribution, you are accountable for leading the overall Distribution operations in a high growth environment. This includes creating a service-focused ,efficient and cost-effective distribution center that supports our Ecommerce, Retail and Wholesale business channels. In this role, you will oversee all inbound and outbound operations while providing leadership and coaching for all Managers, Supervisors, Team Leaders and Associates. Key accountabilities for this role include scaling operations to support our rapid growth, delivering continuous improvement in service levels across all channels and creating flexible, resilient and efficient processes.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities:
- You oversee all aspects of warehouse operations including but not limited to inbound receiving, order fulfillment and inventory integrity in our automated environment.
- You support the rapid scaling of our business with a service oriented approach, while also ensuring operational controls and discipline are in place.
- You ensure efficient and cost effective operations with a balance between high efficiency rates and a superior service level for all business channels including; e-Commerce, Retail and B2B.
- You effectively communicate and work cross-functionally with key internal and external partners such as Logistics, Planners, Dealers and Customers Service Reps, B2C, and vendors and suppliers to produce outcomes in line with the company’s vision
- You build effective relationships with cross-functional partners in Planning, Logistics, Finance,
- You set challenging productivity targets and enroll the entire team to achieve them, maintaining performance metrics for the department and reporting results to Senior Management regularly
- You hold Supervisors and Team Leaders accountable to the operational goals/ metrics and maintain data depicting all set key-performance indicators.
- You are committed to coaching and continuous development of Managers, Supervisors and Team Leaders in the Distribution Centre
- You foster an environment of open communication where people feel comfortable sharing feedback for maximum engagement
- You ensure staffing levels meet work commitments through proactive labor management and forecasting
- You support in developing the annual operating budget and ensure operational performance goals are met within prescribed cost, revenue, and profit parameters
- You implement industry compliant health and safety practices and create a safe and fun work environment at all times
- You support with other strategic projects and assignments as required

Additional experience, education and/or skills:
- You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, Engineering or other equivalent discipline
- 8+ years’ experience in Distribution centre leadership, distribution automation, apparel or retail operations
- You have proven leadership capabilities with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
- You have strong communication skills and are skilled in change management
- You have strong financial and budgeting skills
- You have a knowledge of health, safety, and security practices at commercial/industrial facilities.
- You are flexible and understand the cyclical needs of the Retail & Apparel business, including weekends and evenings as required to meet company objectives
- You have excellent decision making and problem resolution skills
- You are upbeat, optimistic and passionate about your work
- You are proficient in the use of Microsoft Office
- You set a clear vision, align your team around common objectives, and foster commitment to these objectives
- You are proactive in identifying the root cause of issues and developing solutions
- You inspire breakthrough thinking and continuous improvement
