About the team
Kinaxis is looking for a talented candidate to provide strong leadership in the Quality team at our new headquarters in Ottawa. The core of our product is our in-memory database. Kinaxis has its own proprietary database, optimized for Supply Chain. With growing volumes of data and increasing adoption of our product, we have the opportunity to scale out our database and increase throughput. We are in an era of fascinating and challenging work as we build the next-generation database architecture.
Our Backend Quality team takes on the functional and performance testing of our proprietary database and query engine. The team is responsible for building and maintaining our test frameworks while also looking for new ways to innovate in our testing strategies and methodologies, so we can optimize our process and deliver high-quality features rapidly.
You’ll guide your team to solve complex problems, implement challenging and important new features, optimize our process, apply new and emerging technologies.

What you will do
- Lead, mentor and motivate a growing high-performance team of software test developers
- Guide the evolution of our tests and test automation frameworks
- Ensure a high level of automated test coverage
- Understand and use internal & customer data to help achieve coverage
- Assist in triage, release process and monitoring quality dashboards
- Drive ideas, initiatives, and feedback on testing principles
- Collaborate closely with other QA/PV, development, and support teams to continually improve the experience of deploying and using the RapidResponse platform.
What we are looking for
- Post-secondary degree in engineering/computer science or equivalent
- A dynamic leader with excellent communication skills, initiative and collaborative spirit
- 7+ years in software or test development environment
- 3+ years in a quality or software leadership role
- Passion for testing best practices and methodologies
- Familiarity with Jenkins CI/CD and release pipelines
- Experience applying Scrum/Kanban development methodology
- Automated test experience, including unit test frameworks
- Database and SQL knowledge and C# experience
- Experience in delivering enterprise SaaS products and supply chain domain is an asset
