As Head of AI you will be an engineering leader who shapes what we do and will set the tone for how we do it. You will be in charge of a team of senior AI Engineers and Researchers developing capabilities to support products for all our customers as well as capabilities to automate aspects of our current business. Your north stars will be increasing revenue from new AI-enabled products and increasing efficiency/scaleability reducing costs via AI-enabled software.
In this role you will:
- Build, grow, and lead a world-class team of AI engineers.
- Create the technical vision for Datavant’s AI software.
- Partner with product and design to ship value to customers.
- Be a critical leader of the technology organization.
- Be the champion & driver of product innovation and cost savings processes & initiatives.
- Be hands-on by leading high impact efforts.
- Be a strong communicator, coach, and mentor.
What You Bring to the Table:
- You have 15+ years of engineering experience including multiple years in leadership
- You have several years of experience designing ML/AI solutions, training models, deploying and operating inference at scale (ML Ops), and leading engineers and/or researchers who do the same.
- You have a hunger to win

Our compensation philosophy is to be externally competitive, internally fair, and not win or lose on compensation. Salary ranges for this position are developed with the support of benchmarks (competitive San Francisco rates for US-based roles) and industry best practices.
